Newcastle starting season not ready for prime time it seems. Newcastle was a great defensive team last season but to blow this with a 10 man Liverpool doesn’t bode well for top 4 this season IMO. If they can’t win now against the big boys, wait until you add in those mid week Europe games coming. They are going to wear down and drop a game against Luton Town or someone of that ilk down the line.

I truly think LFC is better but Jota and Diaz need to start and Cody G needs to be in the midfield as an attacker. Dudes got a ton of talent, but he isn’t near as quick as the front 3 thatll eventually be of the two I mentioned and Darwin. But make no mistake my man, LFC got lucky as hell. Liverpool is Newcastle’s kryptonite but I don’t think it lasts.
 
Its early days still. We will see how all the clubs react to having to play mid-week games in their euro tourneys.

- Arsenal should be fine, but they haven't been back in UCL for a while. It's a different strain on the roster than Europa is.
- Newcastle could be in for a difficult season depending on how their roster deals with extra games. Again, first UCL in ages.
- Aston Villa, Brighton, and West Ham (to a lesser extent because they've recently been through it) all could run into issues with roster size and the strain of extra games.

The big benefactors of having shit 2022 seasons are Spurs and Chelsea. Both get the extra time for their new managers to train up their squads to play in a new way. Happens all the time with a big 6 club that comes off a terrible season and then overperforms the following season because their players get the extra rest.
 
Welp, Spurs knocked out of the cup after their first game. Lessons learned.

As well as the first team has looked so far this year in its ability to break down a press and have controlled attacking possession, the 2nd team looked very choppy and out of sync. To be expected, but still highlights there's a ton for Spurs to work on going forward.

Getting Fulham in the first round not a great matchup. Fulham just tied Arsenal. Oh well. More important they focus on EPL to make top 4 this season.

My Bayern has been knocked out of German Cup last 3 years. Freiburg last year on a handball in extra time, previous season 5-0 shellacking by Gladbach, and previous season lose a penalty shootout to Holstein (who?????????????) Kiel. Cup is a crapshoot.
 
At least "Hollywood" Wrexham got knocked out. Tired of hearing about them. Anything bad that can happen to Wrexham and make that show go away is good.

Dislike! I finally got around to watching the first season of Welcome to Wrexham and im all in on those guys. Would love to see that club have continued success.

Let’s see if they can become Luton Town. Luton Town are the first football team to return to the top tier of English football after successive relegations down to the fifth tier of English football.
 
Today last day of transfer window unless you are Saudi Arabia. I hear Salah leaving for Saudi Arabia. Not thrilled with Klopp. One reason he was never made captain. Hard for the Fenway Group to pass up that kind of money for a 31 year old. Surely they can use it in January and get by for now.
 
Eric Dier may move to Bayern to keep Kane happy. Supposedly his best friend at Spurs.
 
Gravenberch from Bayern to Liverpool. Got him 18 mil and sell him for 45 mil. Never got off the bench in his only season at Bayern.

Heard Klopp wants more depth up front and given the window is closing not enough time. Still as cheap as John Henry’s been, I’m shocked he didn’t grab that $150 mill.
