Mbappe is good and I really like watching him play. But I just checked the highlights and he really screwed the pooch today.

Benzima was sublime. Koman just needed his shot down a touch. Pogbas goal (and face up after) was pure wonder.

But the Swiss just did not quit and hats off to them. I love when an underdog fights their ass off like that and wins.
 
Outfuckingstanding!!

The 1st game was a no win for me either way.

But to watch France go down was fantastic!

Both games were top drawer.

I like France just fine myself. But, they were a Euro and a deep WC run from being the team I’m tired of seeing.

Now, that’s less of a chance.

Deschamps was the real disaster for France. Went with 3 backs yesterday that France had rarely used before. His substitions were shit too. I was really shocked to hear Lucas Hernandez was not fit, didn't say injured, just not fit. France gave up 6 goals in this tournament and their defense got worse by game. I was shocked France didn't call up the Leipzig center backs Upamecano and Konate. They were on the Under 21's. Probably the last time they won't be called up. I am sure Zindane will call them up for the World Cup. Other than Benzema there was not much contribution from other attackers either....i.e. Mbappe.

Griezemann and Pogba seem more concerned about their haircuts than the game itself at times.

Normally not a fan of Pogba, but we played well yesterday, Mbappe, and others (except Benzema) couldn't finish. I've never been a fan of Griezmann, too much ego, he acts like he's in the same strata as Messi, Ronaldo, etc (he's not even close) and more concerned with his image than anything.

I watched all or parts of all of France's matches, it's clear Kante is the heart of that team, if not for him, they definitely wouldn't have won the group.
 
With the two Euro games during the day going down to the wire and Messi doing his thing for Argentina last night, might have been one of the best soccer watching days of all time.

You’re read on Griezmann is spot on. But, I’ll say this….I would take a player like him on the US squad in a heartbeat. Yeah, I know, hot take.

I would be fine with dealing with the ego issues, etc. While he’s not an absolute top world player I respect the game. He’s often around the ball, either contributing to D or setting up a scoring opportunity.

Great deep read on this squad. All I had to go on was the highlights from yesterday, but that makes sense. The right back line isn’t giving up a 3-1 lead with 10 minutes to go.
