Euro 2020 (err 2021 now)

Italy deserved to tie this match. They been threatening for a long time
England even worse in second half. Midfield completely overrun. This game looks like Italy or penalty kicks. I hope not penalty kicks again.

Grealish and Sancho time soon?

Me, the guy who knows Jack about soccer:

Did that dude just take a cleat to the groin?

Good win for the Azzuri. Well won.

Southgate was sublime with subs all tournament, but sucked eggs today. Nothing worse than sliding Pickford and Sancho in for PK and both missing. Sheesh.

It is not coming home....WOW! Same ole same ole England.

Sancho should just stay in Germany. Rashford wtf... Pickford did what he could. He saved two. Saka I don't blame. Southgate tactics not good at all I agree.

England fans are going to unfairly criticize the penalty kickers that missed. Feel bad.

Italy dominated today. It is well deserved. 1 shot on goal for England. Pathetic.

Yes they are going to take abuse for sure for some reasons that are really unfair. Just saying it.

They will. But to be fair Rashford deserves it for trying to be cute. At least Saka and Sancho were blocked by one of the best keepers in the world. South Gate got the subs and 2nd half tactics all wrong. Sterling should have been taking PK #3.

Yeah. That was another piece I’ve got gripe with Southgate on. Aside from Shaw getting his foot on that one early they weren’t getting any shots. I like the Grealish sub when it came, but I didn’t like anything else.

Turns out the recipe to beat this English team was to have a stifling midfield and solid vet CBs. They had no answer whatsoever.

Ive no gripe with Pickford. He was above his damn head on the PKs. Truly amazing. Sancho and Saka I’ve no problem with. Rashford was a fucking moron.

And, again, the two subs that Southgate put in for PK set it up where a literal kid like Saka had to hit it.

Also, while I’m here….I think the strategy of using your best PK players first is moronic. Especially when you’re kicking second.

Crazy how good Chiellini is for his age, speaking of CBs.

Why as the youngest player did Saka go last? Southgate probably assumed the first 4 would make theirs and Italy miss two and it wouldn't matter.

They said it’s England’s policy that the best kickers do the PKs first. That’s why Kane and Maguire were up first.

I don’t know if the drop off after Saka was just immense or what, but as talented as Saka is I don’t want him in that spot. That’s as high pressure as soccer ever gets.
