Harbaugh facing 4 game suspension

This really makes no sense though. The NCAA denied the 4 gamer but is going to be 100% happy with a 3 game "self imposed" suspension?

Unless the long game here is to lessen the blow to 2024 and that they expect the NCAA will only decide tack a extra game on (vs Fresno State week 1 of 2024) and Harbaugh will be available to coach against Texas in week 2 of 2024

they hate Nebraska. they want to ensure he has a warm up game before playing Nebraska.

I think it's pretty obvious that Harbaugh wanted ZERO suspension. The University making him self impose probably only creates more tension between him and the university
I'm not sure it creates tension with the University so much as it does with the NCAA. This certainly disproves the idea that the NCAA rejected it to come back with something stupid like vacated wins.

I think it's setting up for a lawsuit against the NCAA if they do anything more severe. Michigan and Harbaugh probably looked precedent and knew 4 games was already too severe.

In fact, that's exactly what they did

Harbough should have sat out the 4 games with an agreement Michigan wouldn't receive any further punishment and called it a day. Now everybody is going to lawyering up and this is going to last several years.

The one thing I do about these cases is you can not believe 90% of the stuff you read in the media. Only 10% is accurate and the other 90% is spun, incorrect, or just made up. So anyone relying on information they get from a journalist or Twitter is an idiot.
I should be the Michigan AD.

Thamel says more punishment is an expectation.

Yeah, @MAIZEandBLUE09 seems to be the only one downplaying all of this.

This is likely the end of Harbaugh at Michigan if true. Meaning this year will be his last year. Michigan likely knows the NCAA is going to discover more and it's only going to get worse. Hell if things start leaking he might not even make it through this season.

He's not the only one. I was reading one of the Michigan forum's they act like they are somewhat telling to the NCAA to "stick it" lol when it's really the exact opposite. Begging for mercy.

It might be the end after the year. I can definitely see him trying like hell to get an NFL gig. Him cheating during covid also makes it much more hilarious given how bad they sucked.

I don't think the NFL really wants him, with how the last 2 years of him trying to get a job in the league has went. Harbaugh seems like the type who would just quit rather than stick out any NCAA sanctions even if he doesn't land a NFL gig.

There reportedly was already tension between the Athletic Department and Harbaugh. And feeling is he really didn't want to serve any suspension. Now they are making them by their own choice take one to bow down to the NCAA instead of going to bat for him. So more bad blood there as well.

There was a time where Ohio State fans were in the same line of thinking that "everything would be just fine" when the Tressel stuff started coming out. Then it REALLY came out and things got messy real quick.

This is starting to have a similar feeling. Michigan is going into full damage control mode trying to get ahead of something before the full details end up getting out

Although I don't think the scandal at Iowa has anything to do with the coaches.

Yeah, I didn't think much would come out of the osu thing, but then things just started trickling out and the floodgates opened and then shit hit the fan.

If it does get messy, could be down year in 2024 with all that's expected to leave and now this.

If this works it way up the ladder (The phrase Lack of institutional control starts coming out) they (AD/Admin) are going to throw Harbaugh under the bus so so quick. I don't have any doubt about that.

Seems like a mess in the making. The NCAA is itching to stay relevant so expect they WILL challenge for more at a later day, since they'll like take this 3 gamer after they denied the 4 gamer as a insult.
No school has to listen to a damn thing the NCAA says anymore. They've been neutered.
