Is it time to start paying attention to Luis Arraez’s chase for .400?

That's what Tony Gwynn was looking for, bro. He was fouling off sliders waiting for the fastball. You knew that, right?
A 90 MPH fastball that he would slap for an opposite field single. He was basically Jeter without the rings

There was juice in the 70's & 80's. I don't have any evidence on Carew, but I think it's possible.

are we still paying attention?
What I find more impressive than his batting average is he's only struck out 28 times in 428 ABs. That's a 6.5% strikeout rate.

There are currently 288 MLB players with at least 200 plate appearances. Arraez is the only one with a strikeout rate under 10%. Of those 288, the average strikeout rate is 25%. (There are 7 players over 40% and Joey Gallo is the only one over 50%.)
