Ohio State Has A New OC

You mean 2021, where UM scrapped the spread and went back to a multiple TE pro style type sets and running the ball, fired Don Brown and hired Mike McDonald as DC (the guy who is now the DC for #1 defense in the NFL) and moved Sherrone Moore to co-OC and OL coach. That year?

Or was it 2022, when Mike McDonald left and we brought in Jesse Minter, who coached alongside McDonald with the Ravens and runs almost the identical defense.

Michigan simply has better coaching than OSU right now. We are more disciplined, we don't turn the ball over, we are more physical and they will not beat themselves. Harbaugh is a better coach than Day. Minter and McDonald are better DC's.

And if Stallions 'scheme' is what put UM into the CFP. Crazy how we beat PSU without it and without our HC. Then beat Maryland without it and without our HC. Then beat OSU AGAIN without it and without our HC. Then beat Iowa and won the B1G AGAIN without it. Then beat Alabama without it, holding them to their lowest totals of the season. Then beat Washington without, holding them to their lowest totals of the season, to win the National Title.

EVERY TEAM worth a damn steals sign. Ohio State has a guy whose job is exactly the same as Stallion. Knowles brought him with him from Okie State, where he held the same job.

The excuses are hilarious, because OSU fans do not want to look at what the problem REALLY is. OSU teams take on the persona of their coach, which is a finesse style of play. Michigan hasn't been more talented than OSU -- we've just been physically stronger, tougher and better coached than OSU under Ryan Day. Ryan Day is a hell of a recruiter -- the guy is not a great coach.

Brent Zdebski is the Conor Stallions for Ohio State. Every team has a guy who does exactly what Stallions job was.

We saw this year how things changed dramatically from the couple years they were stealing signs. Michigan has their most experienced team under Harbaugh and arguably in the last 20-25 years vs a team with their worst QB in some time and they are two ugly QB throws from winning the game. Pat yourself on the back....when everyone thinks of this title it will always have that * just like the Cheatros

I wasn't even talking about that. Stealing signs is literally what Zdbeski's job is for OSU. Every P5 team has a guy on staff that does this.

I understand OSU fans want to blame everything but what is staring them in the face, but Michigan has beat OSU the last 3 years with better game plans, better coaching, being more disciplined and being the much more physical team. We have ran for 700 yards over the last 3 OSU games. How many turnovers does Michigan have the last 3 years against OSU? How many penalties?

Hell -- OSU liked UM's defense so much, they essentially tried to replicate this year, but Michigan had more depth and a much better secondary than OSU did.

Macdonald is just 36 years old, but that number isn't the impediment to a head-coaching hire that it used to be. He has spent nine of the past 10 years on John Harbaugh's staff in Baltimore, and the one year he wasn't in Baltimore, he was Jim Harbaugh's defensive coordinator at Michigan. That 2021 season was a pivotal one for the Wolverines, and the changes Macdonald implemented while there helped lay the groundwork for Michigan's national championship performance this season.

Macdonald has had a similar impact in Baltimore since returning as coordinator in 2022. The Ravens allowed a league-low 16.5 points per game this season, and their 4.6 yards allowed per play tied for the lowest. Not only is Macdonald an outstanding playcaller and game-planner whose brain teams looking for a coach should want to pick; he has also shown an ability to get players to buy into his schemes. It wouldn't surprise anybody to see a team take a shot on him as an up-and-coming leader in this cycle.

I'm starting to think OSU's fan base takes the cake in the Dumbest Fan Base. Teams change their signs on a game to game basis. Why? Because EVERY TEAM is trying to steal your signs.

If you TRULY think UM beat OSU the last 3 years because of signs -- I think OSU takes the cake as the DFBIA. 700 yards rushing, WHEN YOU KNOW WE ARE GOING TO RUN THE BALL. 700 yards!!!!!
