"Johnny, you go to Ohio State and you put your head down and work hard. Clock in at the start of the day and clock out at the end of the day and Johnny be proud of the work your put in. Go home, eat well, relax and be ready to start tomorrow with your head held high."

You're stuck in some midwest industrial city of Columbus, Ohio....Open your eyes and see the potential a growing and vibrant place like Vegas could bring to a 18-22 year old.

UNLV has not had a player drafted since 2010

Ohio State, Bama, Georgia etc have handfuls of players drafted every single year.

If you are a 4/5* Kid with eyes on the NFL which are you going to pick?

UNLV has far more potential support than Utah could ever dream of. UNLV get's partnered with some of that mega money in Vegas and it's a program that could literally be built within 3 years. I don't see how this can't be comprehended.
"We wanna be Oregon or Oklahoma State" helluva goal

The top guys still want to go places that have proven to groom NFL talent. UNLV is not that in any realm. Even with NIL its still basically the same schools feasting, they all have good NIL programs already.

4/5* guys are still going to mostly end up at the powerhouses. You might see a few stragglers here and there but it's mostly still just that.
Not an NFL destination meanwhile the Raiders are in their yard and the NFL has multiple NFL hosted events throughout the year in Vegas. Sure, kid is going to get looked over if he's good enough.

Once again the NFL & The Raiders have dick to do with UNLV lol how can you not grasp this?

Ohio State/Bama/Georgia Etc are all handing out NIL packages as well. Kids can go to these places that have PROVEN they can get them actually into the NFL and still get NIL deals. But yea they are going to take their talents to rinky dink UNLV just because they get to hangout on the strip :pound:

It's 2023 my man. A kid, if he is good enough, can get drafted no matter where he goes. With NIL and how life is for these athletes, it'll be more about brand building than playing for a school with historical success. You can build your brand in Vegas more than anywhere else in the country.

Why did LeBron leave Cleveland to go to Los Angeles? He saw the potential for his brand and the money he could make outside of basketball and the future of wealth outside of basketball. It won't be long before college athletes see this same vision.

We have not seen many Kids drift to "lesser" programs just because of NIL. I don't expect that would suddenly become a trend for UNLV.

UNLV may end up in the PAC depending on how rough things get for the PAC. I think the PAC is going to end up losing Arizona, Oregon and Washington. Could end up losing more.

You're thinking an UNLV move to the PAC-12, which will give the program more exposure and more money, won't go after and hire some proven and successful coaches? They aren't going to keep the same staff that they have now or in the past.

You get great coaching accompanied by endless marketing and self promoting opportunities and UNLV is a place on any recruits radar.

Because UNLV doesn't have the money or exposure to compensate these kids. Bump them up to a P5 conference and they start to get that exposure and their investors and boosters start to see a return on their investment.

Known quality coaches are not going to suddenly flock to UNLV. It's delusional to think otherwise.

Plenty of already P5 schools have boosters and such that have "The Money" but they still aren't pulling most of these kids away from the already established top schools. But you think UNLV is suddenly going to start vulturing elite talent. Lol. Delusional.

5 years is suddenly? Again, not saying they turn into monsters over night, but in 5 years, hell yes this program becomes a potential power.

If UNLV joined the Pac 12 right now they would be a mess and win maybe 1-3 games per year. THAT is not going to attract anyone.

Lol those aren't exactly hot new talent's anymore. The washed up formerly once successful upon a time ago coach thing usually does not work out too well.
MGM backs UNLV and tells them to offer an enormous amount to go and get Urban Meyer. It's as simple as that. It can be that easy.
