Nebraska Cornhuskers The Official 10000 posts for a Husker Conference Championship

Need to get more pressure, just not getting anyone to the QB. Then not covering great in the secondary.

D better step up now.

I can't really disagree with the call. I felt like he caught and controlled before he tried to bring it into his body, which was more caused by the DB, but gotta control it to the ground.

Not liking the yards we are giving up. D needs to get pressure, that 4th down stop is a good example. Refs did miss a call but they have missed a lot of calls.

Ugh. Just so much to complain about. I'll give props to Ill, had a good gameplan and executed way better than we did. They didn't have stupid penalties and we did, giving them so much help. Refs were poor and only called really blatant things, letting a ton go on both sides so won't really point to that.

I hated our offense, got pass happy and abandoned the run. Yea it's not glamorous but were easily getting 4 yards straight ahead and felt like one was going to pop but then we'd have the back try and cut it outside and lose yards. I didn't like Dylan's effort on the one drive in the fourth where he fumbled twice, then in the OT, yea the line failed you but maybe don't retreat 20 yards? Just really bad gameplan and no creativity in the run game.

D, just disappointed in some of the easy first down conversations they gave up. Had plenty of times to get off field and sat back in zone leaving middle wide open. Run D is mediocre if Nash and Ty aren't in, I said that was a concern after the last game.

Anyway, on to the next one. Hopefully this lights a fire under them.

Tommie Hill and Turner Corcoran are both out for the long term.

Several chances to win the game. Defense played soft. OLine disappointed.

Offense played okay but defense is where the loss bit the Huskers.

Defense was very tired and reaching and grabbing for facemasks instead of running and tackling. Perhaps another down lineman occasionally in the 4th quarter. Illinois line mauled our defensive line. There was little outside containment and inside at times. Two touchdowns lost, one by out fighting and the other was a long lead pass for a slow FB. Shitty kicking game popped its head up again. It wasn’t our night. Bert used the same formula he used at Wisconsin. On to the next one.

Here we go to again, I really only see 2 (high confidence) W's on schedule, at Purdue and UCLA at home. They may be able to beat Rutgers. Other than that I'm struggling to see any more W's, a 500 season would be good enough I guess for a bowl, but expectations are and should be higher with a 5 star QB and (14) returning starters.
