The Official SEC thread

yeah man it was a wild take ESPECIALLY with how bad FSU has been.. one win team?

Yeah for sure. FSU/Clemson did 1.41 and FSU/Miami did 1.51. ND/FSU only did 2.3 or something like that and that was on NBC. And ND is actually good. If that game does over 2 million I'd be surprised.

I think I initially said 10-12? If the ND/SC game is the NBC game, I can see it falling between that. Between what's already been announced, I think that'll take away about 4-5 million viewers or so. Between the LSU/OU, UF/FSU and IU/Purdue games. There'd have to be approx 23 million people watching CFP that Saturday night for it to eclipse 15 million.
Yeah you were saying 11-12, not as bad as the "won't top 5m" nonsense others were saying. I have no idea who besides alumni watch LSU/OU. UF might be saving the UF/FSU but FSU fans won't watch that massacre. IU/Purdue will be a big draw if IU beats tOSU.

Those other games won't get a lot, but if each of them gets around 1.25-1.35 million, that's approximately 4 less million viewers for other games. I don't even think the IU game will draw that well, but could get 1.5 or so, but even then I doubt it. Games on ESPN on a Saturday are basically guaranteed to hit at least a million. I obviously don't think UF/FSU will do much, but can see it getting around 1.5 or so. I can also see that getting 800Kish given network and time slot.

that weekend isn't a typical weekend though, it's a holiday weekend where more people should be watching TV at night. I don't think these games are jockeying for the usual 23-25m viewers. I think there will be 30m+ viewers for CFB, and if A&M doesn't shit the bed against Auburn this weekend then pulling 2/3 of viewers Saturday night isn't impossible.

There's just no precedence in any window during the regular season for that many ppl to be watching though. Not saying it can't happen, but that'd be a first. Last year's OSU/Mich game drew 19.1 million, peaked at 22.9 and the total viewership during that window was just around 23 million viewers. That was the highest rated game since 2011.

I'd have to do some additional research to see what the numbers were like in previous seasons, but I cant imagine any window has gone above 30 million.

I'll be doing my part for you to win the bet

Jokes on all of these guise, I'm gonna set up 20m virtual servers and pirate stream the Aggie game on all of them. We going over 40M!!!

The game is also in Eugene. I don't think it'll be much of a contest either.

As of now this is the competition for A&M vs. Texas

Wyoming at Washington State - 6:30 | CW
Oklahoma at LSU - 7:00 | ESPN
UF at FSU - 7:00/7:30 | ESPN2
*Purdue at Indiana - 7:00 | FS1
B1G game on NBC - 7:30
B12 game on Fox - 7:30
Virginia at Virginia Tech - 8:00 | ACC Network
Nevada at UNLV - 8:00 | CBSSN

*My assumption.
LSU vs Oklahoma will draw its stupid to put it on at the same time as Texas vs aTm

There's not a great time to put that on. If at 3:30 it goes up against Bama vs. Auburn and the CBS B1G game. If at Noon against OSU vs. Michigan.

Oh man, that sucks for ND. This means that by 2028 ND will be a shell of its former self while Jexas beats up on your brand name. T's and P's.
Actually, I was thinking just the opposite. Arch will be gone, Sark will be gone and they will be competing with Miss. St. and Vandy not to be the bottom team in the SEC.

Nah, Jexas has a history of playing big name schools when they are having terrible years. Like UM. They still brag about beating the "top 10 and defending national champs".
