The PAC-10 is winning

We’ve been waiting 4 years for that.
Still waiting

Funny how TX/OU fans immediately became SEC :nutswinger:

Outside of highly ranked matchups (of which there are maybe 3 at best), very few outside of SEC territory are watching Missouri vs South Carolina.

They'll be watching their regional games that matter to them. Particularly opponents of their favorite team.

In the last 10 years, Alabama and Georgia have only played each other twice in the regular season. Even then, both were blowouts.

You think I'mma watch #1 Bama paste #14 Miami 44-13, or #12 Ole Miss 42-21, or Mississippi St 49-9, or Tennessee 52-24?

Nope.... I'm watching Big 10 games.

All that matters here is 'Will I get plenty of CFB options to meet MY preferences on my TV'?

That answer is yes.

Face it.... If a game between ranked teams on ESPN is a blowout, I'm switching to a more competitive game with unranked teams on FS1.
Yeah, I’ve never understood why people would rather watch Bama beat one of the lesser SEC teams 55-14 than watch Cincy and UCF play a 31-28 game. But, the prior seems to attract more eyeballs just because it is Bama. So I must be the one out of step.

I just want options and these TV deals give me that.

I understand SEC fans wanting to watch Bama destroy Mississippi St 49-9 so they can ride on Bama's coattails. SEC SEC SEC

I’m with you. But you and I must be in the minority.Seems a bunch would rather watch brand name blowouts than good, close football games.

It'll interest me more than Rattler at South Carolina.

But I understand SEC fans would be more interested in watching Rattler.

Rattler wasnt good at OU last year. Not sure why anyone is expecting anything better with a worse supporting cast and stiffer competition.

I definitely sympathize but I think the issue can be explained with the following:

Why would people rather watch a 12-1 MLB versus a 3-2 Minor League Baseball game.

Cincinnati and UCF are considered a smaller league/style of play. Granted, I think going to Big12 will help them get more visibility and they are very strong G5 brands but Alabama is one of those top brands right now.

It is definitely a gamble with Rattler but I have seen QBs transfer and get into a better system that makes them come alive. Look at Hendon Hooker at Tennessee for example. He wasn't that good at Virginia Tech.

I personally want to watch Nebraska opponents. I also watch Big 12 games because I'm familiar with most of them. Particularly the old Big 8 teams.

I rarely watched the SEC game on CBS. There are weeks it was not even in the rotation, or if it was it was lower on the list.

Mind you I lived in SEC country for 5 years back in the 80's, so I got a healthy dose of it. Without internet or national tv, It was difficult getting Big 8 news or games.

You are definitely in the minority with this aspect (granted SEC brand wasn't what it was in the 1980s versus today).

I see a lot of people moving down here and then jumping on the bandwagon. Heck, most of the "SEC Fans" are fans who don't have a lot of connection to specific SEC programs but come down here and like watching the sport/social aspect so they become generic SEC fans.

You could say the same about Martinez, but I'll still be interested in how he does at Kansas St.

Not really my point, tho.

If @Thiefery says he's not interested in how Casey Thompson does at Nebraska, he'd be lying.

I understand your :nutswinger: way of looking at things.

To me, Cincinnati and UCF are decent brands worth watching in a close game. I am looking forward to seeing them move up. Back in the day, I always envision leagues like the Big12 and SEC adding G5 teams that had great brands (For example at the time SEC adding Louisville and Southern Miss who were strong Conf USA teams back then). How wrong I was. We are poaching from each other instead of upgrading teams.

Only teams to get legit upgrades were Louisville, TCU, and Utah.

I spent years down there and the only SEC games I really care about are the higher ranked teams of which I said are maybe 3 weeks a year during the regular season.

Same could be said about the Big 10 or any other conference.
Nebraska is in the Big 10 so I care about those games more and am more likely to tune into them.
