The perfect hard-boiled egg

and let me add my method (the proper way) of eating a hard-boiled egg: open it up with your thumbs, careful not to damage the perfect sphere of yolk. then you get some salt and pepper, and shake out some salt and pepper onto your plate. Then you roll the yolk ball around in the salt and pepper and give it a moderate coating, and snarf that lil bastard. then you take the two chunks of egg white, and dab up the remaining salt/pepper and snarf those, too.

Boil enough water to get to the eggs armpits.

Puncture round end of egg with egg puncture thingy.

Place eggs in boiling water for 7 minutes.

Remove from heat, place pot in sink and run cool water over everything.

A perfect soft boiled egg is the result. Little runny white, but yolk is only about to turn solid.

Cut top off, dash of fresh ground pepper and sprinkle of salt. Eat with spoon from egg cup.
