This was the best transfer portal QB pickup this year imo. I’ve like this guy. I think bucknut fans are going to love the combo of him and old Chipper.
I'm impressed with how hard he has worked. He didn't look very impressive in spring ball. During the summer, he changed his diet and literally worked his ass off - went from 250 down to 233 and reduced his body fat, increased his muscle mass.

His throws have much more zip and he now seems more comfortable with the offense. His running ability will add a dimension OSU has missed the past 3 years.

I reserve the right to scream for the backup after his first pick.

Michigan fans are still trying to convince themselves that Ohio State is going to deeply regret letting McCord go

Howard named full-time starter almost a full month before McCord was.

"Howard isn't much better than McCord" - Michigan fans. Lol.

When he throws 3 ints vs Oregon I'll give you grace

It's heartwarming to see the Buckeye fans be so welcoming & accepting of what Will Howard brings.

Lack of excitement must have to do with the guilt of cheating

I know what you are saying. The guy has never really looked like “THE” QB with a canon arm. But from what I observed, he’s tough physically and mentally, a gamer and unselfish/just wants to win.

Now watch him fart, fumble and fall making me look like an idiot. I know, I know, all of you turdheads already think I’m an idiot!

If McCord was actually that great he woulda landed somewhere a lot better than Syracuse.
That's the thing people don't get about how truly bad he was.

Day resurrected Barrett's career and had him playing Heisman-level ball in 2017.

He had Haskins breaking conference records en route to being a first rounder.

Fields balled out under him and was a first rounder.

Stroud developed into one of the best QBs in the nation and the #2 pick (and if Carolina could do it over, the #1 pick).

Then McCord, who was in the program 3 years, goes out and poops himself in a system designed for QBs to accumulate stats, and winds up at a low-tier ACC school.

Will Howard may not be a superstar, but from what I've seen from him, he's an upgrade over McCord in every imaginable way.

McCord had 3 years in the program and looked like he was a guy playing QB in college for the first time a lot of the time. His major problem is he has little to no feel for the game and is terrible at making reads and progressions.

Michigan fans are trying to convince themselves that he was actually great and Ohio State "made a big mistake" because they really know he wasn't good and are sad they wont get to play him this year.

His pocket awareness and footwork was truly among some of the worst I have ever seen. He would make a play every now and then (like to bomb to Harrison vs. michigan) and show off his talent, but it was moreso infuriating because you see what he could be if he could put it all together. I wish the kid nothing but the best, but looking at some of the highlights from Howard the last couple of years really shows you just how much better he is overall as a QB, and he was throwing to guys who are going to be working at Enterprise Rent-a-car in a couple years.

McCord only looked somewhat decent at times BECAUSE OF HARRISON.

Put McCord on Kansas State last year and he's a comical mess. Nobody is claiming Howard is like the 2nd coming of Stroud or anything, but he definitely has that "it" factor that McCord was sorely lacking.

There's a big reason Howard was highly sought after in the portal and McCord was not.

Also Michigan fans love to make it seem like Ohio State fans are claiming Howard is Michael Vick or something when it comes to running. He is not of course, he's still way more mobile than McCord who is a total statue, he's not going to run for 100 YPG or anything like that but he can move around a lot better when the line breaks down and pick up a few needed yards here and there when he has to, unlike McCord.
