So I made chicken soup because cold but it's too sweet. How do I get it more savory without adding more salt? Impossibruh?

Btw - i did not add anything sweet, but I did use carrots and parsnips in making the broth, so I'm guessing that's where it came from.

Depending on how much you made, you can add black pepper a bit at a time, tasting as you go and giving a couple of minutes between additions to allow the flavor to incorporate.

You could also add poultry seasoning a little at a time if you're not into using black pepper.

Chicken bone marrow or chicken feet.

I was thinking of going into the cayenne direction  Maybe I'll try the poultry seasoning. I just don't want it to get too salty, but then again, there's probably only 2 servings so I'll probably just put it back in the fridge and in a week say, "oh, dvrn. I forgot all about this soup! Guess i'll have to toss it out"

BTW - been meaning to ask: are compost buckets smelly? I really trash a lot of food and would like to compost what I could, but I don't want it stinkin' up the joint.

I used a chicken carcass and parts to make the broth. I think it was the parsnip that put it too far into the sweet zone. Lesson learned. But in the meantime, I've got no palatable soup :pout:

Garlic. Lots and lots and lots of garlic.
i used about half a head. Celery, carrot, onion, parsnip, bay leaves, parsley, thyme, sage and rosemary. May have also over-concentrated everything. When I strained it, the bones were mealy.

The mawfks and this conference room! For that reason alone, I wish we didn't have to go back into the office!
Dingbat: Can I use your conf. room #101 on Nov. 9?
Moi: No, it's booked all day on the 9th and 10th
Dingbat: orly? I just booked it and it's free - lookit my screenshot.
Moi: That's #110 and seats 6. Mine is #101 and seats 30.
Dingbat: Oops, I stand corrected. We need 101. Is that still available?
moi: PER MY LAST EMAIL!!! :gaah:

omg. i hate flies! I better stay away from composting. I don't think it would be a good deal for me unless i had a lot more space and distance from said container. Sorry, planet.

We just recently got a composting box from the City, it stays outside with the other bins and they come around to empty it once in a blue moon.

I want it to make dirt for my plants and to grow worms for fishing. Assuming that's how it works. Really haven't looked into it much at all, except I saw this on c&b so I thought composting might be like a cute hippie thing to try.

We used to do it ourselves outside, but had to turn the stuff frequently. Got bored with it.

No idea about compost buckets. Never used them.
