WTF are you on about? better in name recognition only
UNC 9-4 division winner 2nd best in the ACC
Florida 6-6 5th in division and maybe 8th best in SEC
if Florida were like 8-4 and like 3rd in the East you might have an argument
ACC schedule vs SEC schedule. Also Florida beat the PAC champs Utah. UNC doesn't give two shits about football meanwhile Florida does. A matchup versus the Gators is better than UNC.

Can we trade with Oregon State for their bowl game? I'd much prefer Vegas vs the Gators than Holiday vs UNC. Like how the F did the Beavs go to a lower bowl and get a better opponent?

The Las Vegas Bowl got to pick before the Holiday.

They took the best available.

Not only was your "Oregon will get chosen higher than Washington" a fail, your Oregon chosen higher than Oregon St would have also a fail.

I am baffled that the Holiday bowl went from the #2 bowl in the PAC to the #3 bowl? And when did Las Vegas bowl at 11:30 AM on the first Saturday of bowl games jump up to the #2 bowl?

Like the destination of the Vegas bowl is great, I'd take it over Alamo, but when we were in the Vegas bowl we were playing Boise State, not SEC.

Another duck fan gave you the clue. It's about payouts. Any bowl willing to pay higher amounts can move up.

I'll take the higher payout over destination every time.

this all happened a long time ago but also over years. Holiday went from 2 to 3 when Alamo was added. when Vegas built and NFL stadium the partnership went from Mountain west to a 3/3 SEC/Big Ten vs Pac. this moved it up the pecking order.

Shouldn't surprise anyone that OD doesn't understand life outside of the CFP bowls. Being a frontrunner fan and all.

Dude Florida lost to VANDERBILT in late November lol a SEC schedule is not the reason they are a mediocre at best 6-6 team.

They barely beat Utah the 1st week of the season at home and after that it was all downhill. The next week they lost to Kentucky by 10 at home and then got fairly lucky to beat a 1-11 South Florida team the week after that. Utah is a team that loses games like that.

The Alamo took the place of the Holiday Bowl as the #2 (or #1 pick outside of BCS/payoff bowls, however you want to look at it) over a decade ago, like 2010 or something. The Vegas Bowl worked up from its garbage bowl status of crappy Pac 12 vs MW with the new stadium, and is now Pac 12 vs SEC, that one is more recent.

For the guy who tried to flip me shit for not realizing we did away with the conference divisions THIS YEAR earlier in the season, you sure are fucking lost.

Also, as a side note, I've always loved the holiday bowl, but that stadium was gross and dilapidated way before the Chargers bailed. And now that there's no NFL team occupying it, it's sure to just go way down hill over the coming years.

:rip: Holiday Bowl.

Um, the Vegas selected before the Holiday did. It is the higher of the two bowls this year. So no, you can't ask to swap up to the higher bowl after losing to the team that was selected and ended the season ranked higher.

Is this all new to you?

I mean, he's an Oregon fan, so that question is rhetorical, right?

my mistake it was 2/2
22 and 24 SEC
23 and 25 Big Ten
so in 25 we could see a UCLA or USC vs a PAC team in the Vegas Bowl
not to mention Rose

Bud we usually have our eyes set on the playoff or get into the Rose Bowl. These mid tier bowls I know nothing about. I'd rather play in the Bahamas or Hawaii bowl, give the players a chance to go to an awesome place. As a fan if it Ain't a NY6 or playoff, I'd prefer the Bahama's or Vegas or Hawaii. Give us a good destination.

The Pacific Life Holiday Bowl though will always be #2 for the PAC in my heart.

Oregon was in the Alamo Bowl last year… 6 of their last 10 bowls were lower tier bowls… you should be plenty familiar with them.

Has a team ever forfeited a bowl game because they don’t have enough players? We were looking good for next year then pow the portal killed us.

I guess Cam Ward isn’t a very good leader.

That's Inglewood Family Gangsta Blood territory.

Both teams wear red, so they should be fine.

so apparently tomorrow is the day the conference can move forward.
the meeting about UCLA happens and hopefully we get an answer if UCLA is going to be released or if the state or whomever will hold them to the PAC.
I think this has been what has been holding up media rights negotiations.
following that the Pac will decide if they want to add a teams if UCLA stays, get 2 or more if they go. or maybe stay at 10.
either way we should finally have some answers to these things soon.

meetings start at 2:30 this afternoon
