Under the Porch with the Guide Bear!

I have kind of a big problem with my tank. The pump is barely moving any water at all
Problem solved. It was so easy. I swapped out pre-filters about ten days ago and apparently a piece of sponge from the earlier filter got stuck in the pump inlet when I changed pre-filters.

It was the best of times
It was the easiest of fixes
All were happy
Especially the fishes

What a relief! All last night I was concerned I was up against the worst case scenario. That would be a total tear down and setting back up again.

I am in deep!.jpg

Today is the first day of spring and this is how my yard and the woods look today. It looks mostly dormant still but it is ready to pop wide and mighty.

For the next 10 days or two weeks or so, I'm gonna take a pic every day from the same spot in my room. It's going to change very fast from today to being almost fully leafed out in a week or two.

religious people cry all the time that they are persecuted for their religious beliefs but in reality it’s religious people who persecute, ridicule and berate others just because they don’t believe what they believe. They love to play “the victim” when in reality they are the aggressors and victimize others with their emotional outbursts.
This is pretty generalistic.

Water balloon, piss n shit
I sure don't want to be the one to prepare that 'item'. And I sure as hell do NOT want to handle someone else's foulness!

What is that black can looking thing. Looks like it's stuffed with cotton?

of course it is. I would never say ALL religious people are like that. Some are tolerant of those who don’t believe. But are you saying the majority don’t “judge” non-believers? Are you saying the majority have a “live and let live” attitude? Ironically, it’s been my experience that priests and other religious leaders are far more tolerant of others than members of “the flock”

How come your avi is upside down? Were you a fan of Bo Pelini when he coached the Huskers? I sure liked him, it was fun to watch him lose his shit!

fair enough… it’s not been my experience but I respect that opinions can vary.
Maybe I got lucky when it came to churchs.

I've been a member of my current one for 23 years. Small Lutheran ( WELS) church with a great pastor. We all understand we are there because we all sin, everyday. Not because we are better than anyone. Has been a great part of raising 3 kids that have turned out to be great young adults (empty nest 2 years from now).

This isn't the place for ministry, so I'll just leave it at that and hope you have better experiences in the future.

This isn't the place for ministry,
I beg to differ, Buster Bait!

thats great. I appreciate your insight. I went to catholic school from the 5th grade all the way thru HS. TBH, I wouldn’t have changed that experience for anything. I’m sure it gave me good perspective during some very important years of my life. Also, the nuns and priests I had NEVER talked about nor taught us intolerance about gays, abortions, etc. They just said us it was “contrary to what God’s law”. They NEVER dwelled on it or highlighted it and I took religion “class” four times a week for all those years in school.

When I got older I drifted away from church. I remember sitting in orientation class in college filling out a questionnaire about myself (name, sex, DOB, religion, etc) and I remember thinking “this is stupid… everyone is catholic”. I then looked at the guys paper next to me and he had checked off “Jewish”. I realized I had been living in a bubble. As I got exposed to other religions I started questioning how could mine be the only “right” one. I stopped thinking I had “the playbook for how to live life”. I maintained the values that I had been taught which IMO was what all those religion classes were really all about. The teachers of those classes never said it but they really taught me tolerance of others.

It wasn’t until later in life that I became exposed to those who “push” their views of how others should live their lives onto people other than themselves. It wasn’t until later in life I heard people say things like “aids is proof that homosexuality is wrong” or people advocating that women shouldn’t have the right to choose what to do with their lives. I PERSONALLY don’t engage in homosexuality nor would I ever want a women in my life to get an abortion but I have never thought it was “wrong” if anyone else ever did either of those things. I also don’t think either of those people will not be able to experience “heaven” if there is such a thing.

I’ll say this: you say your experience is the majority of religious people “live and let live”. I disagree. If religious people support laws that ban abortions and/or criminalize homosexuality then they are NOT allowing people to “live and let live”. They are pushing their views of religion onto others.

You can't disagree with my personal experience, LOL. You can have a different experience however, and I can't argue with that. We all view life through the lens constructed from our own experiences.
