Hey Friends, I just got back from the VA a little bit ago and it was only a 3 month oncology appt and I normally don't schedule those because I only get treated every 6 months and going every 3 months, I really don't think I need to be watched that close. I think the real reason I skip the every 3 month visits is because transportation is a problem for me. The VA USED to give me free rides for every and any appt but a few years ago they really took a hard turn away from the free rides except for the very extremely clumsy.
I'm single clumsy and even double clumsies don't get free rides anymore. One must be triple clumsy or more to catch a free ride.
So the reason Princess (she is my Phys Asst) wanted me in today was to do a special saliva test that will identify whether my cancer has specific mutations and if it does, they can then treat the cancer with specific drugs. I think it's kind of like pinpointing problem areas and fixing them in a more precise fashion rather than destroying good cells while beating the cancer back.
I probably have a bunch more years ahead of me, more than I even thought I had yesterday! And that's all the more reason to fix my home life with my son and Bunny.
One last thing friends. yesterday got heated for a while here and
@dbldwn711 , what he did for me yesterday was a wonderful thing.
It's about the third or fourth time that Padre has gone to bat for me and I will never forget it. Man alive Padre, it's hard to even put into words how great that was, how good it made me feel. I thank you with sincerity and gusto!
Looky here how Padre went 'To Bat' for me! I fuckin love that guy!
