Well, Let's Discuss CFP Rankings For 11/29

I disagree ... they are a lock along with UM and UGA. No way a one-loss team that didn't play championship week gets in before an undefeated regular season team. This is barring a really bad loss. A normal loss, they are in.

USC has a loss, but they are also a brand so I think they are already in. I think the committee is going to go 4 conferences this year.

I think tOSU will be 5th, Bama 6th. Neither can move. That means the only thing we are playing for this weekend is seeding and USC or whoever is ranked 5th Tuesday night.

Eh, it's TCU. And they are playing a 3 loss team in their conference title game, not like its a matchup against a undefeated or 1 loss team. They will leave them out if they lose.

Okay so I am curious and just putting this out there. Beating an 8-4 Notre Dame is a good win. Is losing to an 8-4 Notre Dame a good loss? So, if Michigan beats 8-4 Purdue it isn’t a good win, right? Is losing to 8-4 Purdue a good loss? The committee will think Michigan sucks if they lose to Purdue even after beating Ohio State at their place. Could you imagine Michigan, TCU, and Southern Cal losing? Damn.

I think TCU and USC both losing has a fairly good chance of happening.

I don't really think Michigan will lose to Purdue, but I do have a feeling the game might be closer than some would expect.

Not happening. The CFP would do cartwheels to get both Michigan and Ohio State into the playoffs. Why? Because there are only two college programs who average more viewers per game than Alabama. Ohio State and Michigan. They'd love to find a way to get OSU, UM and Alabama in the CFP, as that'd give them the top 3 most watched teams.

Michigan/Ohio State averaged over 17 million viewers this past weekend, with a high of 19.6 million.
CFP as an entity, yes. The committee, no. Those individuals will not sit there and say let's get this team in or that team in so the CFP makes more money. IMO, the 3 undefeateds are in. USC has to win. If they lose, it will be tOSU or Bama, likely tOSU who will be ranked 5th.

I posted this in a thread but, although I think Georgia is the best team this year, they have not and will not playing a meaningful road game in a tough road environment this season. Let that sink in.

This is why sometimes NFL is better in that you got a 16-game schedule with 32 total teams so you see a quarter to half the league every year and there is a greater understanding of a team's strength.

In college, the schedules are heavily imbalanced to favor certain teams.

Georgia did play @ Miss State who is 8-4 and won heavily so that was probably their toughest road game. The only other tough road game was Missouri and they almost lost that.

This is one reason the 3-6-6 SEC schedule sounds nice.
We also played @SCar and boat raced em.

Well, we did beat the total shit out of USCjr in their stadium, 48-7. I've been told by my UTjr fans that is a tough place to play. Just saying.

Not going to happen. Perhaps it would have happened had some of the teams not lost (i.e. Clemson, Tennessee, etc.).

Also Ohio State still has decent wins over Notre Dame and Penn State. I could see Ohio State getting in and Michigan left at home if Michigan losses.
I think you mistyped this. There is not a chance in hell that tOSU gets in and UM gets left out. They literally played 4 days ago with tOSU getting curb-stomped at home.

UGA vs Bama in the semi final is a bigger ratings cow than UGA vs a Michigan team that just got beat by a 8-4 Purdue team in the B1G title game (and also a Michigan team that UGA steamrolled last year).........
Bama isn't getting in over UM, whether Michigan wins or loses. UM would have a better record and better wins (OSU and PSU).

I don't think there is even a scenario that Bama can get to the CFP, unless a TCU and USC both lose and they move OSU and Bama into the top 4)

I agree with you but I am not sure what committee will do. They put Ohio State in over a Penn State team that beat Ohio State and won the B1G.

Look up Ohio State and Penn State in 2017. It has happened before.

According to your fanbase, Tennessee is trash (even though we are your best win to date).

Penn State had two losses. Michigan is undefeated right now.
Ohio State's loss by 39-38 on the road in a white out night game. Michigan beat OSU at OSU 45-23. The two situations are absolutely nothing alike.

Personally, I think both would likely make it in but it would be interesting if both USC and TCU win and Michigan loses. I could see it going both way.

Now if you are asking me, I put Michigan in even with a loss.

There is a less than 0% chance Ohio State would get put in over Michigan, when they just lost by 3 tds at home to them 2 days ago. If Michigan had a loss coming into the OSU game, then it could be a possibility, as losing the CCG would give them a 2nd loss.

That being said -- I honestly don't see any of the undefeated teams dropping and USC will have to lose to change up the top 4. And then I think OSU would get in over Bama.

I agree that Ohio State and Alabama are the only real contenders and I think Ohio State gets in over Alabama. However, if TCU and USC BOTH lose, I think Alabama and Ohio State are the picks. There will be some discussion about Tennessee as well but Tennessee won't make it, especially with Hooker now out.

I guess we find out Tuesday but I am banking on a 1-loss TCU getting left out.

One problem you have is that you go to other sites where you claim other fanbases are all assholes, you get all pissed off, and then you come back here and attribute their attitude to UGA fans here who have been more than reasonable. You should stop doing that. Every post where you and I mixed it up, you started the trash talk and I finished it. Take the posts here, as examples.

You've never once admitted your own fanbase can be a bunch of assholes - and some of them can - even though I posted receipts. When you fess up to the fact that your fans were total assholes post-Bama, then I might take your whining seriously.

Not even close to being the same. It is you that should be looking it up. As WhoDis pointed out:

Not remotely alike.

That year Penn State had 2 losses (Ohio State had 1) and their win against Ohio State was a fairly flukey one at home.

Their 2 losses were to a 5 loss Pitt team and a 49-10 blowout loss to Michigan

This is why Ohio State got in over them. Ohio State was also helped by a massive OOC road win @ Oklahoma and wins over Michigan (who Penn State got wrecked by) and Wisconsin.

Penn State's showing in the B1G title game was also weak, they won but they had to comeback from down 28-14 at the half to do so, and only won by 7. That did them no favors.

I can agree to that because I got in a lot of fights with some of the delusional Vol fans who thought we would easily go 12-0, etc.
