What are you reading?

I have a couple books I am reading right now...just kind of rotating.

Wind and Truth by Brandon Sanderson
Adrift in Currents Clean and Clear by Seanan McGuire (Book 10 of her Wayward Children series)
Open by Andre Agassi

listening to Dungeon Crawler Carl by Matt Dinniman, which is really an awesome listen that I recommend to everyone.

Dungeon Crawler Carl Series by Matt Dinniman

Oh fuck yeah Dungeon Crawler Carl has the best audiobooks I’ve ever listened to. I already read the most recent book and pre-ordered the audiobook that is coming out in a few days. The story is just absolutely fucking bonkers man.

I am very disappointed in my library for not having them on Libby.

I made a comment on Reddit about wanting to listen but not wanting to pay $25 for a copy and someone gifted me one! Score!

Now I need to find the other 5 :( I don't think reading them will have the same joy.

I read this morning that Stormlight 6 won't be out until 2031. Between now and then, Brandon's going to put out 6 or 7 other books, including 3 more Mistborns, 2 Elantris sequels, and possibly a Warbreaker sequel. I think he's going to try and tie up some loose ends between all the cosmere planets. The 3 Mistborns are going to be about the Ghostbloods, so I assume that will take place prior to Way of Kings. The Warbreaker sequel would also take place prior to WoK and should explain how Vasher/Zahel comes to Roshar.

I only read the newest one and only because the physical book was released four months before the audiobook and I simply couldn’t wait. I already have the voices of the characters so ingrained in my head that it was still basically the same experience but I’ll always recommend folks listen to this one instead of reading them.

Recently started Promise of Blood by Brian McClellan, first book in the Powder Mage series. It’s like the French Revolution but with wizards, pretty cool so far.

I just searched for that one in my library yesterday. I have heard good things about it.

I need a vacation book, something that is just a one off that doesn't commit me to a series.

Time Enough for Love by Robert Heinlein

Finished The Names of the Stars by Pete Fromm. Good read about a month long stay in the Bob Marshall Wilderness.

Rereading American Sniper, while I wait for a few books I ordered. The Heart of Everything That Is, and Undaunted Courage.

Started Alien Clay by Adrian Tchaikovsky last night, it’s a scary af looking possible future. Scientist gets sent to a prison planet for heterodoxy and is tasked with learning about the ancient civilization that disappeared from this planet without a trace.

Just started Jitterbug Perfume by Tom Robbins (he passed the other week and someone mentioned it was their favorite book) I'm only a few pages in, but it doesn't disappoint.

he wrote the Surge Storms books, right?

Read The God of the Woods by Liz Moore while on vacation. Quick read and really couldn't put it down. Just what I needed.

Started reading The Royal Assassin by Robin Hobbs...it's dense, classic fantasy style reading. It might take me some time.

Also started Red Rabbit by Alex Grecian

Reading Churchill's Citadel right now and loving every word. It's about Churchill's activities at Chartwell as Nazi aggression grew, leading up to 1939. This is my favorite book of the last year or so.

Also, reading tons of Victorian England novels (super light reading at night) in the vein of E. V. Thompson.

Have you seen the movie "The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare"? A true store of a group of Special Ops soldiers in WW2 formed by Churchill and controlled by him. They gave birth to "Black Ops" warfare. I thought is was a decent flick.

I've read all of Hobb's fantasy series, they were awesome, and a lot of them are tied together. I think the series starts with Assassin's Apprentice. There's the Fitz/Assassin books, the Fitz and the Fool series, the Liveship Traders series, and the Dragon Keeper series.

I've been reading several by Evelyn Waugh, just finished The Loved One, which was tartly humorous, and now reading Scoop. Also started the Wax and Wayne series

correct. I read The Assassins Apprentice years ago and have had Royal Assassin on my shelf for a while, buildingup the nerve to read it. Taking a break from Wind and Truth so I decided, why not now?

we will see if I get past the Farseer trilogy

I’ve only ever heard very good things about Hobb’s stuff, never tried any of it though. I’ll add some to my wish list.
