What are you reading?

Finished Dresden - Turn Coat. A little better than Small Favor but he seems to be packing too much into each story now, and there's a lot of loose threads. Gotta see it through to the end, I guess.

Going to pick up the next three chapters this afternoon.
I don't know if I ever went book by book with the Dresden Files...I don't think I could tell you which ones I liked better than others. There are a lot of threads out there as he introduces new characters and new storylines and that gets tough.

while I am always looking forward to his next book, I am not sure I remember everything that is going on with him at this point.

I've been reading them in order ever since I found the first book at my local branch. The overall story is very different now from where it began; Harry doesn't really do much investigating for hire anymore, or consult with the police special investigations unit. Murphy is still around, at least. Instead Harry is getting deeper into White Council business and more entangled with the Faery World and with the White Court vampires. They're still entertaining and breakneck but I keep finding myself with a lot of unanswered questions at each book's end. Maybe that's all by design.

I think so...and now that he has arch enemies and baddies that have him included in their big plans, it def gets away from where he started.

I tend to like to have an urban fantasy series to go to all because I like Dresden so much...so Sandman Slim is that for me right now. I liked the Iron Druid series too, but it got a little meh towards the end.

Dresden is still my favorite...but Dungeon Crawler Carl is getting up there...although that could be considered LitRPG...I dunno

I'm reading "Fade Away" by Harlan Coben. Book 3 in the Bolitar series. Good read. Crime and humour that works very well together.
I see a bunch of his titles at my local branch, which usually makes me suspicious. I mean, there's also a whole row of Jackie Collins books on the same shelf.

There are 12 books in the Bolitar series starting with "Deal Breaker". Try the first one. It's an easy read and I was surprised how entertaining it was. I will end up reading the whole series. It's got a touch of a Jack Reacher vibe to it.

I'll have to check it out down the line, thanks for the recc

I think I say this every time I read a Sandman Slim book...but I really don't like them and don't know why I am reading this series...

it's like I am hate- reading them at this point

I’ve never disliked a Sandman Slim. I love the irreverence.

About to start very first book in the department Q series. I hear it’s a show on Netflix.

I have now read the Swedish author team Lars Kepler, the Norwegian author Jo Nesbo and now the Danish author Jussi Adler-Olsen.

A hat trick of Scandahoovian winners.

I got heavy into reading Royal Assassin by Robin Hobbs over the weekend and think I will finish it sometime this week. Wondering if I should roll right into the next one of the series and finish it off.

I really enjoyed all of her stuff. Chade is one of my favorite characters

of course the library doesn't have a digital copy of Assassin's Quest...

they are really well written but dammit if they aren't dense...and someone slow when it comes to the story

holy shit, they don't even have a hard copy of it. What the hell is wrong with them!

Yeah, they definitely take effort. I forget how I got into the series, but after I read one, I was hooked.

I've got a paperback I can send you. I've got 3 of the 4 series that are all connected, I just don't have the Dragon Keeper series

damn that's impressive. I am hoping to finish the Farseer trilogy and maybe someday get into the next one.

it's good but I am not sure I am hooked right now...we shall see.

I started finding them in second had stores a few years ago, after the wife told me not to buy any more books. They're still kind of hidden. Many of them I paid less than a dollar, but it was more about shelf space. If you or anyone else wants the collection, I have no problem parting with them
