World Cup 2022 Qatar

Here is how soft the USA is too. They choose to play their friendly against Saudi Arabia in Spain in an empty stadium..so not to wear out Euro based players (who all sit on the bench anyways) with travel...yet tonight in New Jersey Argentina playing Jamaica in New Jersey. That could have been USA vs Argentina in sold out Met Life Stadium tonight. That would be the kind of test in front of a big crowd needed. Of course Berhalter isn't going to let them softies and himself embarrassed 5-0 at home like that. Hell Messi not playing now, so maybe only a 3-0 loss. He chose to get emabarrasssed losing to number 24 Japan and tie number 54 Saudi Arabia with zero goals scored instead

By the way, I heard Phonsie got hurt in one of the Canada friendlies. Not serious I heard

He'll be fine.

TSN has 5 channels (6 if you include their 4K channel), so potential overlaps are not an issue and my PVR can record 5 things at once anyway.

One of your starting center backs for the World Cup.....because hey MLS rocks:

The USSF = “old boys” and nepotistic practices. People get positions they didn’t earn while more valuable people are surpassed. The fixation on a garbage league. The list goes on and on and on......

US should be ok in the tourney. I think for the most part, national teams are more or less settled and they just want to avoid injury as much as possible in the weeks leading up to the cup.

Roster projection by ESPN. No Pepi. Pepi sure dropped off the radar. Flash in the pan. Maybe 2024 for him. The 2020 version of Leroy Sane for Germany in 2018. I am ok with this if Prefok and Sally there and they are there per ESPN.

His standing was really hurt by his move to Bundesliga. His spell at Augsburg was just bad. I know some pundits around here mostly blame the system he went into, but at the end of the day the player and his agent have to take that into account.

Hopefully he turns things around with his time out on loan. He's a promising talent, just needs more polish.

The Bundesliga move a big mistake. He went to a trash team like Augsberg (err who shutout Bayern 2 weeks ago lol), but a team that didn't provide a lot of opportunities for a striker. And really never helped himself either. Seems a bit passive. Almost a year with no goals too. Couldn't even luck into one. Even average strikers, will poach a lucky goal more than not. His positioning not good. Got one recently. Even at Dallas before he moved, the goal scoring dried up. Maybe he should have gone to Salzburg, but better off stay at Dallas. If he did, maybe no Ferrera development and the man now who takes his spot on the roster. Ironic.

We'll see. Only team in Group in form is Iran right now lol.

Berhalter will fuck it up.

Good news for the USA: Reece James and Kyle Walker going to miss World Cup for England....That means.....wait for it ...........................................................................

Trent Alexander-Arnold is now going to be needed on defense for England

Great news indeed. He has been a liability all year at liverpool.

Kante out of the World Cup for France now and Varane hurt his knee today and could be out too. Pogba is borderline to make it, but no Kante too, that French midfield takes a hit. If Varane out, might have a 75% Bayern defense with Pavard, Upamecano, Lucas Hernandez (if he gets healthy). The more trouble for France, the better.

Pogba officially out of World Cup. Same with Kante. McKennie got hurt this weekend and borderline. Lukaku also injured this weekend and may be out too. Müller , Sane , and Neuer all injured too and Bayern babying them right now. Taking no risk with their injured German Stars. A pretty long list of players who may not make it.

With so many injuries to France, especially Kante, looks like Brazil is the clear favorite now. Argentina could make a good run, and even get to the Final. How great would be to have a Brazil v Argentina Final? Personally, I'd love to see Messi win it so people would STFU about Maradona.

Brazil is but hopefully Neymar screws it up for them.

Just looked at the bracket, assuming both Brazil and Argentina win their groups (which they should), if both advance, they'd meet in the semis.
