Series Thread World Series: Braves vs. Astros

Rex is out of touch with modern times and his baseball takes are laughable at best. Let it lie
Derp. Last season was 60 games long played in front of no one. No one gave a shit about MLB in 2020 including 1/2 the players in the league.

LOL at the pubescent scrote pretending to be an expert on baseball. :laugh3:

Second highest attendance figures in the majors and Dodger Stadium seats more is the only reason they weren’t first, but nobody cares about the Braves. This isn’t the 80’s anymore Rex, get with the times.

No dog in this fight, but IMO they are pretty comparable. Both are regional teams (NE for Boston, the South for Atlanta) as opposed to "city teams" like KC, Baltimore etc.

Here's one site I found, granted, it's not the end al be all, but a decent indicator. You can see the Red Sox and Braves are almost identical in every category: https://pattern.com/blog/the-most-popular-mlb-teams-on-opening-day-2021-according-to-consumer/

Also, before any brings in Social Media followers, those are very skewed as people follow multiple teams, example, as a Rays fan, I follow the Red Sox, Yankees, Jays and Orioles because we're in tha same division.

Red Sox have a far bigger bandwagon following, but the Braves are a regional team and still have a significant fan base across the country left over from the TBS days, though it’s not as big as it used to be. Braves media market covers a lot of ground and numerous states. Just as a sample size, the Braves are by far the most well represented fanbase on this site, and I’m the only one that actually lives in Georgia, and I’m about equal distance from Atlanta and the NC/TN state lines

I live the virtue signaling from the west coast white liberals of Twitter about the chop. The tribes in the area have all endorsed the chop and have strong business relationships with the team, but we all need to stop it because some bitter limp wristed white as can be Dodgers fan is offended

Maybe its just because i follow the braves, and not FSU or the Chiefs, but I never hear the outcry for them doing it as much. And the only time I ever really hear people bitching about it for the Braves is during the post season. I'm assuming most of the people bitching about it don't watch the braves during the season, so out of sight out of mind.

Yeah, they must really care then. I think someone said it previously in another thread. Most of the people bitching about it are those trying to earn brownie points in their social circles.

Democrats are unhappy the Braves are in the World Series because of the Georgia voting law. Stacey Abrams should be barred from attending any games in Atlanta.

LOL, yeah it's safe to say that Boston has more of a following outside of New England than the Braves do outside of Atlanta.
Is it? Braves control the entire southeast. Hell even Florida, no one in Florida cares about Miami or TB. You see Braves fans all over in Georgia, Tn, Alabama, NC, SC and Florida.

The braves also played on TBS all over the country for 30 years every night. There’s still fans left over from those days as well.

Red Sox may have a slightly larger following due to population, but it is not quite as large a gap as you think.

I think it’s also because the Red Sox have a more recent WS appearance and the bandwagons broke in 2004 from everyone that jumped on. I’m guessing there’s still residual fans from that, too.
