The point is the endless amount of entertainment that these players can enjoy. It's endless in Vegas. You start selling the promotion of an athlete's self brand and playing in a Power5 conference and UNLV can grow rapidly.

Also athletes can self brand themselves anywhere right now (and they are) but here you are acting like it would be some exclusive to fucking UNLV. LMAO!

Sure they do. But Vegas offers over a dozen high end 5 star resort Hotels to party at and you get hot chicks from all over the world who vacation and visit Vegas. Vegas is a destination spot, that isn't the case for many other programs.

Because imagine branding yourself partying with some instagram model/influencer. Which is going to be an endless amount to pick from in Vegas. Not so sure you can get these chicks to Columbus Ohio to hang out at the Motel 6 pool in November.

Vegas is a destination spot for vacationers. Not high level HS football players who want to get to the NFL some day. No matter how hard you try to mental gymnastics that into being true.

Gee UNLV could be doing this already, nothing is stopping them, they don't though. Joining the crumbling Pac 12 is not going to change that
 
if UNLV was so desirable the Pac 12 woulda scooped them up years ago, not wait until the last resort option to try to squeeze a few more years of life out of the conference.

Isn't Bishop Gorman, one of the country's top athletic high schools located in Vegas?

Again, they aren't committing to UNLV right now because UNLV isn't a power 5 school. But what if they become a Power 5 school?

Gasp! UNLV becomes a legit option to commit too!

Vegas popularity has sky rocketed since COVID. Tons have moved their within the last decade. Conference just recently started moving all their media meetings and championships to Vegas.

Bishop Gorman is one of those schools where a lot of the kids aren't even from the area, they just go there to play football. Top players from that school will continue to end up at USC/Bama/Ohio State/etc. Not UNLV.
