Imagine winning a NC in a year where your coach was suspended 6 games for cheating. ****
I would enjoy that.

And technically, he was suspended for lying (NCAA first 3 games) and having bad sportsmanship (B10 final 3 games)

"minimal competitive advantage" - NCAA on the in person scouting rule.

Comparing it to using technology to decode games during games is nonsense.

I haven't really followed it, so I guess I'm not sure what the big deal is.

Are teams not allowed to send someone to scout a team in person anymore?

That's how scouting used to be done.

Were they taking equipment to record the opponents signals?

I am rooting for Washington for the following reasons:

1. I'm not retarded (its been scientifically proven only retards will root for Michigan)
2. Their fans (now that Alaska Guy is gone) are pleasant to be around
3. Oregon fans will lose their minds and live with "what if" for the rest of their lives
4. The Championship will count for the PAC and not the B1G (which is hilarious)
5. Michigan cheated and doesn't deserve it

There really is no downside to a Washington victory.
I will be rooting for Michigan. A Michigan NC will piss off the most people. I love rooting for “bad guy”.

Correct. They implemented it in the 70's or 80's to try and allow poor schools to "keep up" with schools with a lot of money (since the poor schools couldn't afford to send scouts). But Michigan didn't do that (at least that there's formal evidence of). Michigan had a low level staffer paying (with his own money) unaffiliated with Michigan college kids from other areas to go to games and film them with iphones. That's it. iphone recordings. And that's the "issue" here.

lol "cheating"....still waiting on those NCAA allegations of cheating. Michigan didn't break any NCAA rule and the rule in question, that was not violated, was downplayed in its significance by the NCAA just two years ago when they considered removing it all together. Not to mention, everyone was well aware prior to any of our significant games this season, and for half of that we were without a head coach because of these nonsense exaggerated claims.
Blah blah….Harbaugh sat out because we were innocent.

Child please.

You are also scientifically proven to be retarded now.

Harbaugh sat out for lying, not cheating, to the NCAA
Then Harbaugh got suspended and sat out from the B10 because of a "sportsmanship" rule - again, not cheating.

So then Michigan thought they found a loophole?

Hiring people to do exactly that, had sheets and binders made up of other team’s signals and there is video of one of their assistants on the sideline’s of a team playing one of their opponents scouting from the sidelines in that teams gear.

Think about the stuff that got the Patriots in trouble and multiply it by 10.

Thank you for contributing to my scientific research and providing clinical proof that you are retarded. Your sacrifice for the sake of science has been noted.

To that extent, there's no evidence that anyone knew about this beyond the low level staffer who was seemingly doing it to make his job of legal sign stealing, easier.

What I stated was fact. The B10 used a sportsmanship rule to suspend harbaugh.

Well there you go, win your first NC with a coach who was suspended for 6 games for lying, having bad sportsmanship, and cheating. I am sure you are so proud. Not sure that post was what you meant it to be. LOL.

Be kind to those with special needs.

I don't think that post meant what you think it did. The alternative is those accusations and no national title.

Okay, but my understanding is that the NCAA expects the Head Coach to be responsible for the entire program and it was his job to know. So, "not knowing" isn't an acceptable excuse.

At least that's what USC was told when their defense in the Reggie Bush scandal was that they didn't know because everything was done in a private home 2 hours away from campus....

and that was with one of the folks involved saying they "knew they had to keep it off campus because Reggie and USC could get in trouble".

Sure. The NCAA could make that determination....if this is even a violation of the rule or a grey area they have to address with a rule change. It would most certainly be worse if there was evidence that implemented the actual coaching staff and not just an analyst on the staff.
