DeBoer Replaces Saban

18. I guess I was going off what I saw earlier. I have no reason to check, I'm not going out there.
I only know because I just came back in from my hot tub and it was fucking ass cold out there.

Almost everyone has a price, sadly
Yeah, John Rahm is the perfect example. I think it was Fred Couples that made the comment. $300 million wasn't enough, $400 million wasn't enough, $500 million wasn't enough BUT $600 million was enough to join the LIV tour and "grow the game." Yeah, that's why he did it. To grow the game.

Problem is how many players could a coach recruit if they were totally honest with those recruits? What if they said "I'll be here unless another school is willing to pay me a shit pot more than I'm getting here. Then I'm gone."

Man, softy is still being all depressed and stupid online. Like sack up man. He was here in '08 and this is nothing even close to that year.

In that season the M's finished with 61 wins and fired their GM and manager, the Seahawks finished 4-12, and the Huskies finished 0-12. Every sports team was bad and with little signs it could improve.

This year the Seahawks weren't going to go anywhere with that defense, but they weren't THAT bad, Carroll needed to go. He's 72 and his defenses were getting more and more shitty. His leaving is something to celebrate. And we just finished the greatest season for UW in more than 30 years.

Dude acts like it's '08 all over again.

You say that is if you assume UW fans didn't feel bad for Fresno players and fans at that time. That's not the case. You can feel like the process is shitty being on either side of it.

I doubt many bama fans care because they are bama, but even if you poach a coach from a kent state or some other lower division it still sucks for those kids and their fans/families.

I'm sure that UW fans have always been sympathetic to a program who loses their coach.

And now we have the Kraken, whose thing is apparently catching fire at the exact right time.

It's weird to me Softy hasn't seemed to get into them, at least I never hear him talk about them, not that I'm tuning in much.

Zona fans have been trippin all day as well. They believe their coach is going to get picked up. Man, I don't really want him, but meh.

^^^ many more like it online.

He can keep UW as a top 25 program. Don't think he can keep them as a top 5 program.

I don't think it ever ended up hurting Oregon. Taggert wasn't going to be it anyway. Cristobal showing why he wouldn't have been long term. You ended up with the right guy for you so what are you on about now? lol

His ratings go up when our local teams are doing well and go down when they suck...

I'm guessing he's going to find other positive sports crap to talk about in Seattle which is going to be hard to find...LOL

The Seahawks aren't an entire rebuild man. Find a decent coach and get the right coordinators and they should fight for a playoff spot next year. Carroll going is a positive thing.

And as Day pointed out, the Kraken are entirely on fire right now. Haven't they just tied the franchise record for consecutive wins or something? They've been fantastic after that crappy start.

Softy's problem is he is 90% huskies, 7% seahawks, 2% mariners, and 1% others. So this impacts him way too damned much.

And he's been here long enough to know better. Coaches come and go. The program goes up and down. He acts like someone died or something. He's worse than OD ffs.

Does his audience match the 90% Huskies 7% Seahawks...etc.?

I don't get a chance to listen to him....

apparently he's a very aggressive recruiter. That's the only aspect of him that would make me curious. He was a bit of a douche with the whole delaura thing and I just don't feel he's a fit.

The talk about grabbing Smith is also not exciting.

We will see what Dannon does. I wasn't as fired up about DeBoer at first as we warmed up to be later.

Like I said earlier, I'm not sure who his audience is because I don't know what type of listener can handle listening to him 5 days in a row.

I catch him on my nightly commute home from work only when there's a good guest or reason to tune in. It isn't that often.

Right...I lost track of him since my work schedule doesn't allow me to listen.
