I think that may be one of my favorites by him. I have read a lot of the John Corey books but he's kind of a shitty character and I don't really care for him anymore.Cathedral by Nelson DeMille
I went to a good used book store in San Diego and found a massive hardback with three DeMille novels in one a few years ago. Forgot I had it until I just read Stephen King's "On Writing" and he lists it as a book to read to experience "how it should be done."I think that may be one of my favorites by him. *studiousJust starting Objectiivism: The Philosophy of Ayn Rand by Leonard Peikoff. A studies look at her thinking.
If you get time, I would start with Elantris. It's a great stand-alone that will introduce you to the Cosmere (all of Sanderson's book are connected in the same universe). After that, the Mistborn series is really good and not quite as massive as the Stormlight books.I have considered reading something from Sanderson other than the Stormlight Archive. Like some of his other novels in the rest of the world he's built, I just haven't gotten around to it.
I'll try Elantris then. Thanks. If you get time, I would start with Elantris. It's a great stand-alone that will introduce you to the Cosmere (all of Sanderson's book are connected in the same universe). After that, the Mistborn series is really good and not quite as massive as the Stormlight books.

I would recommend Centennial. Easily my favorite.Finished up "Alaska" by James Michener this past weekend. I enjoyed it. Can be interesting in two genres bc it tells the history of the land of Alaska starting waaay back when there was still an ice bridge and it was walled off from the rest of North America but it tells it through the POV of a fictional character (starting with animals before moving to humans or relatives of humans). So kind of a historical fiction.
I guess Michener does this with several interesting regions of the world. Wouldn't mind getting another of his in the future.
I don't want to spoil it for you when you read Van Buren but there is a lot of sexual contentJust started the process of reading a biography on each president. Only just got thru John Adams.
