How do you screwballs know that the Bears got a 6th rounder for him......he just may end up being a 4th.....

For the ones who thought we should keep him why??.if you think theres potential there and he gets playing time,it will turn in to a 4th.....

For those that think he was no good anyways,so be it a 6th it is.....

When was the last time a Bears qb left Chicago and had a decent career with the other......??
There isnt.....

Justin will probably have more of a Trubisky type career, than have a successful qb career like many others have had in the league........
When’s the last time a Bears QB stayed in Chicago and had decent career?

Huh?

Oh I dunno.....McMahon had a very succesful career,Cutler and maybe Kramer.........Hofer Luckman.

But you kinda answered the point of why Poles got what he got,why would any team want a Bears cast-off qb......??

Seems to me there wasn't and the ones that tried in the past got nothing out of them.....

Trubisky the latest one.

The Steelers upgraded from the statues they had last season at QB but they still need to try and upgrade their OL.

The crybaby isn't going to be the solution. There are plenty of other needs for Chicago than yet another all-in QB solution, and those aren't going to be settled for a 6th (with an outside shot at a 4th).

Bullshit. The next one will be the first.
The Bears have had a pretty solid FA.

Getting Allen was a solid move as their #2 receiver. Now, they just need a slot WR. They should go get Renfrow.

What would it have hurt to keep him? Let him fight for the starting job, which he may have won. Let Calb get his feet wet in the system, and maybe take the reigns when JF gets hurt in 6 or 8. 6th or 4th, is still not much return.

He has to play 51% of the snaps for it to become a 4th, so it’s likely a 6th. They should have just kept him and let Caleb sit for a year for that.

Okay, not bad ideas. But good franchises aren’t built solely with FA deals. Would’ve been nice to draft and develop good young players cheaply.

I think JF was owed something like $3 million; he’s still playing on a rookie salary. There was little need to ship him out of town. Yeah, if he wins the starting job from Williams in camp, Williams’s value suffers a little, but it gives the team more options at the end of the season, including still trading Fields for comparatively nothing. This was a bonehead move.

This is what I think too. New QB in an unfamiliar system, and any sort of injury or benching increases the odds it’s only a 6th.

To keep Fields is probably not gonna work out well in the lockerroom.....
Justin knows his days are numbered and would not want to look over his shoulder every minute of the day....not too mention you start Justin,it will not take long for Bear fans will be chanting for CW,that does nothing for him,but hurt his value more than it is.......
Poles was "supposedly" be doing him right to trade him to team needing a starter,im guessing no one wanted him.......teams had to know he was for sale and no one cane calling.....
So Bears keep him, next season he is worth nothing.....atleast we may get a 4th now,but a 6yh is what hes worth.
And what was he to learn from Justin......?

Just my take.

Stories abound of Fields being a cunt to Nick Foles and Andy Dalton during his rookie year. Prolly why they've had no-names backing up since..Siemian, Peterman...Bagent. Bagent won over the team in one game, with waaaaay less talent.

Bears killed the Draft last year. They have a good young core building on both sides of the ball, imo.

They had a shit ton of capital coming into FA, and two picks in the top 10 of the draft.

Fuck Fields...he is a black cloud of overrated. Dude couldn't handle Nick Foles and Andy Dalton in the same QB room, I doubt he'd mesh with whatever young buck they draft.

And thetes one point I wanted to add to Oeters point:

The Bears are not drafting Caleb Williams to have Justin as the starter.....0 chance.

Bears got what they got cause the marlet decided it.....
When Minshew,Darnold and Pickett get a team before Justin, the matket is telling you something......
Us Bear fans want Justin to get that 51% of playing time to make that 6th into a 4th......that trade will look goid then.
If Justin cant break into that starting lineup in Puttsburgh by beating out an old broken Russell Wilson, then you know Justin is gonna have a Trubisky type of career.....

But the steeler already picked up russel wilson and barring injury, JF will not win the job

Hey, if the guy was a bust, he was a bust. Doesn't matter if it was off the field stuff or not. Placing the blame for 7-10 almost solely on one position means you think the get-well plan is to simply replace that guy. Caleb Williams is an immature douchenozzle crybaby, and it's doubtful he'll have huge success in his first year against NFL defenses. Past performance is no guarantee of future results, but something tells me Bears fans will be back here in 2 years, griping again.

Trubisky, another dumbass bust, though with more success out of the gate than Fields. Poles > Pace?

Nah but behind that OL.....Russ could easily get hurt.

They have not really addressed the OL.

That one position, is the most important position in sports tho.

I never said anything about Williams, but I will state all day that Fields was a weak link on this team. Great athlete, pretty awful QB. They can do better, and passing up on the No. 1 pick two years in a row is simply unacceptable. You don't get that opportunity often.

I don't think they had any choice. People are blinded by Fields' athleticism, but the fact is, after 3 seasons, he just isn't getting it. All excuses, no production.

I won't lose a wink of sleep over losing Fields, and I don't think he warrants much higher than a 6th. 4th would be as high as I'd go.

Still not good to convert first round choices to 5th round picks, 3 years later. Fields, Trubisky, Grossman, uhh McNown... these are not good looks for supposedly the most important position, to waste picks upon, when there is better talent available in the draft.

Russell Wilson is short term I believe, pating just a hair over a mill for his services this season is peanuts.
Im guesding the Pitt brass is hoping RW is gonna help JF along in progressing his career...........and then its bye bye Russ.

Ahh college kids fodder......Caleb will be in a mans league now,I fully expect his college hyjinx(sp?) will be of the past.....

To blame 7-10 on just Fields is dumb, but Mooney is gone for Keenan Allen,Swift is our new no.1 rb,we signed Everett whos above anything Tonyan has done......
The Bears are setting CW up BIG TIME with the additions of Swift Keenan Allen, plus the 9th pick who is most likley on the offensive side.....
Bears are filling those holes.

This new regime they got going does not wanna give this "so called" elite talent with nothing but Moore......

They gave Trubisky 3 years,Fields 3 years and Im sure they will give Caleb 3 years too......
