No. The argument is McCaffrey because he set the all time NCAA purpose yard record and only player in Rose Bowl history to have 100 rushing and receiving. It is a nice argument saying Henry faced more tough defenses but CMC was that entire team that wasn’t littered with all pro players or high draft picks.

Gerhart had the yards but that is where the defense argument comes in. He racked up a shit load of garbage time yards against a worse than now Pac 10 with a team that had 3 NFL OL, 4 NFL tight ends, plus Doug Baldwin and Andrew Luck.
All purpose yards is the biggest Bullshit stat when you return kickoffs. You are pretty much guaranteed 20-25 yards everytime

How are people calling Tebow overrated? Yeah he had talent around him but there were games I remember him putting that team on his back
Something Mac Jones has never done (neither did Borrow at LSU).

I'll give Lawernce credit because he can put his head down and get you extra yards or that first and he is a legit threat as a runner but can still sit in the pocket or roll out.

People just like to hate on Tebow because he is a dork but the dude could ball and he has a playoff win in the NFL under his belt which there are a shit ton of QB's that have been drafted that can't say that.

It seems like there are two different debates going on here:

1. What QB was considered a great in college but in your mind was vastly overrated in college? (nothing to do with draft stock or NFL success)
2. What QB was considered a great in college and never lived up to the hype in the NFL and/or bust in the NFL?

It seems #1 is what this thread should be about and for that reason...Lawrence and Tebow are not at the top of this list or really anywhere on this list.

A guy like JT Barrett is probably close to the top somewhere bc he had great success at Ohio St but he had a lot of weaknesses that if he faced the right opponent...they could take advantage of him, like vs Clemson. He had an awful deep ball...he had a ton of records and a 4 year starter but he was overrated in my book. This has nothing to do with the NFL though.

Chris Simms maybe...can't say I watched a ton of games he played though so not as familiar.

Brady Quinn is definitely high on this list imo.

Dennard Robinson! He could be #1 on this list honestly.

Danny Wuerffel...he won a national championship too but he was so overrated.

EJ Manuel

Jeff George and Ryan Leaf say whachu talkin' bout Willis?

Todd Marinovich says hi.

Can I vote for whoever the Michigan quarterback is?

Lmao what? He's a great QB, deserves all the praise he gets, he simply has been bested by another player than same year. If we're talking about the Heisman, it's tough to have him over Murray, Burrow, and Smith in the Heisman given their respective years.

Just wanna say I’m not shocked he is struggling in the NFL. Everybody slobbered over this kids nuts but I saw the truth the whole time.

Yep, time for the Jags, Bears, Pats, 49ers, and Jets to move on. Complete dud of a QB Class

Doesn't matter

He still owned BAMA

Nope. He was an excellent QB in college but there's a huuuuuuuuge difference between college and the pros.

Nobody calls Tim Tebow an over-rated college QB.....and he wasn't that good in the NFL.

And Lawrence in only his 2nd pro season with his 2nd head coach.

Plenty of time for him to turn it around. Not even halfway through his 2nd season.
