TV Series Star Wars: The Mandalorian

I figure Grogu is basically gone from this show now. At least for a couple seasons. Also, if they do end up doing the re-cut of the sequels, Grogu will have be added to the flashback scenes to either Ben’s or Leia’s training.
As to what lies ahead, I'm not sure what to make of the post credits scene. Mandalorian Season 3 is set to premiere Christmas 2021 then that ending with The Book of Boba Fett says December 2021, just not sure why they would have both coming out at the same time, if they're separate projects. Other than that I can see them go in a Mandalore direction for next season.

I definitely see the show turning “inward” on the Mandalorian struggle. Maybe even with Sackhoff joining as a semi-reg / big bad moving forward? She is not a wall flower. She wants to rule Mandalore and now Mando stands in her way of doing that, seeing as he is technically the ruler of Mandalore now.

They name-dropped Thrawn in that one episode plus leave it open that Mandalore needs re-taken. I hope they do something with that. Also wonder what happens with Grogu because as it stands now he gets killed by Kylo Ren and I wonder if they tie that up in the future to give people clarity about his future.

I think the Thrawn stuff will go into the Ahsoka Tano show. I don’t expect much if any of that to be included in anything else.

Mandalore does not need to be “re-taken”, to my understanding. The entire planet was simply turned into a world-wide wasteland as the Empire left. I believe this happened after Maul’s reign.

I'm fairly certain The Book of Boba Fett is its own spinoff.

Well, I'm convinced. Jon Favreau and Mando have saved the Star Wars franchise. I didn't hate the sequel trilogy as much as some but Disney and Rian Johnson definitely fucked it up hardcore. Mando makes me think they have pulled their heads out of their collective asses.

Giving Favreau the “keys to the kingdom” and making him the Universe Runner was certainly a good first step (has that actually happened, or just rumored to have happened?). They still need to produce more quality hours of programming, though. With only 4 (arguably 6) of the existing 11 movies being even “above average” is not a good statistic for the franchise.

Though, the vast bulk of the “small screen” (“tv” doesn’t really exist anymore) inventory has been stellar. And Filoni has been responsible (or, at least in the room) for much of that. giving him a prominent seat at the table was also a good move. And at least LISTENING to Lucas is important as well (though don’t give him any actual decision making power - dude just can’t do that anymore).

Does Favreau have input into other projects? They would be wise to get him involved more. Filoni definitely has a good track record.

I thought I read/saw that he was given the big job a while back. Maybe it was just a blog/vlog WISHING he were given the job??

Spoiler: It was Jar Jar that saved Grogu when Anakin was slashing up all the foundlings
How could you know that?

Also...
De-aging tech is NOT there yet. That looked so bad. That was on the level of Tron Legacy bad.

And this is what makes The Mandolorian overrated. It is well made and decently acted, but the stories are not good and very repetitive. As I said about season one, you can watch episodes 1-3 skip 4,5,6, and watch 7 and 8 and not really miss much.

it's essentially an RPG where Mando has an overall quest but gets into side quests along the way in order to achieve his overall quest.

because he has no money and he constantly needs goods or repairs on his ship, he has to help other people in exchange for their help.

meanwhile he collects friends, loses friends, and forms alliances along the way

If I'm understanding properly after binging the existing seasons...the Mandalorian story is done. The next series will be the Boba Fett saga?
