So the plywood will be the actual tank? I just figured that no matter what you seal the wood with, eventually the coating would fail.Ah Petey Pete Pete Pete! You was dun did confused at my Guide Bear stories too... Let's get with the program, Shall we?
Actually, no joking, it is such a simple straightforward task to seal the tank and then install the glass.
Three coats of epoxy and then after it dries with silicone glue I will slap the tempered glass in place.

This is the top brace in place. The tank is laying on its front (viewing) side and it got too heavy for me to flip over anymore. If I need to I will hook up a pulley on the ceiling joist to get it upright. The top brace will get one more layer also, it will 3/4" narrower than the bottom section of the brace making a nice lip to hold the tops in place.

Yep! This Pond Shield is really good stuff from what I read... And anyway think about wooden boats that are waterproof.

And the best news, this tank is ready to be sealed. I will spend tomorrow cleaning up all the edges and generally prep the tank to get it ready for the first layer of epoxy.
The top brace is finished and it is an excellent design (that I copied)! I need to start thinking about gravel...

True. I did in the past. Older boats are going to leak unless you refinish them. We always laid fiberglass over ours to finish them.

Yeah I don’t think the pond seal is going to work. I would research this much more before I committed.
Another issue is going to be moisture. If you are going to keep a tank that large in your basement the water will evaporate and you could be creating a mold issue down the road.

Well I had a Koi pond, that had a waterfall and it sprung a lead and Pond Seal was crap. There is a reason they line waterfalls with a rubber sheet underneath.
As for moisture every sane person knows that is a concern in basements that are enclosed as that isn’t rocket science.
I will say this it’s pretty clear why “Bunny” left your ass this week with your attitude and mood swings. Be a good boy and take your meds.
