2022 Season Thread

Blaney could run a pretty conservative race and just stay out of trouble and make the playoffs even with a new winner. Truex still needs to go for the win, but plate racing isn’t his forte.

Dang. That really sucks. Hope Kurt gets well. I'd imagine this is going to equal an earlier than expected retirement from him.

I said it before, and I'll repeat just to be sure: I firmly 100% believe that his noggin must really be whack to have this cost him a chance at a Playoff run. Kurt is too vocal and too competitive to just sit unless it's serious.

Of course Blaney and Truex have a *little* less stress heading into Daytona now; but they both need to be elbows up still because a McDowell or other such character will be hell bent on using the back door into the Playoff.

Probably dating another assassin, and this is just a coverup. He’s still Rubberhead to me. This series needs more Jimmy Spencers

Surprised NASCAR didn’t wait until Monday to announce it.

These are my guesses for how musical chairs ends up:
Shrub to the #16
Ty Gibbs to the #18
Preece to the #10
Reddick to the #45 after Hamlin pays RCR off.
Austin Hill to the #8

If Reddick’s contract gets bought out, I’d be a good amount of money Josh Berry would be in the 8 next year over Hill.

I could win on a technicality either way

I don't think the 16 even has a full time sponsor.

I don't think the 16 even has a full time sponsor.
Neither does the 42, but of Busch were to go to the 16, it’s rumored that Chevy would be covering a good bit of the contract since Kyle’s truck team would also switch to Chevy

The part time drivers in the 16 have done better than Haley has full time in the 31

Get KBM in ECR equipment, that could open the door for Chandler Smith or John Hunter Nemechek to replace Reddick. I’m a lot higher in Chandler Smith. Something about JHN leaving a Cup ride to go back to the truck series doesn’t sit well with me

I don't believe that is an issue. Kaulig already funds the #31 though his business Leaf Filter and the #16 hasn't went sponsorless and it has ran every race this season.

Idk if Berry would leave Dale Jr with it being known that Jr is trying to get a Cup team started relatively soon. Does Berry have a sponsor to bring? Hill has United Rental.

I don’t know, but Bennett Transport is said to be increasing their partnership with RCR. I’d need to see Hill win at a non super speedway before I’d give him a Cup ride. I said the same thing about Justin Haley, but that didn’t work. Smart move would be to get Allmendinger in the short term until Zane or Chandler Smith is ready to move to Cup

Oh, Hill definitely isn't ready to move up, but we know how that goes when someone has money.

So, Kurt Busch is gonna miss the start of the playoffs and isn’t requesting a waiver, so he’s out.

That removes a lot of drama for Daytona. New winner will be the only way Blaney or Truex miss out on a chance for a Mickey Mouse “championship”

I give kudos to this race team for doing this.

Suarez officially returning to Trackhouse next season

And at long last, it’s gonna be the Craftsman Truck Series again
