Surprised he didn’t at least get feedback.
But Kam is staying.
Huge. Should be able to have top 15 potential with proper progress at spots
Have probably still the best returning core in the conference.
Jones will play point?
Omoruyi to replace Oso, lol...
Yeah I think point Kam to start games will be what we roll with. Stevie and then Norman off bench will help. Other jones I’m expecting red shit his knee injury is not good.
Gold is the center. Doubt we portal. Maybe find a back up big or PG but I doubt it.
We did reach out to Dre Davis which was kinda odd. He’s got a million suitors so it don’t matter. But odd positionally.
Shaka has an interesting strategy to stay out of the portal.
I guess loyalty to his guys so they don't leave?
1 week away. This should be a very tough BE.
Gtown and DePaul are going to actually win games.
Butler, Prov and Nova(if Neptune learned to coach a single lick) can be dangerous in the middle. Hell, even SHU dont count out with Holloway.
No chance at only 3 bids this year. Heck, id be shocked at only 4. And while i never want doubt Hurley at this point, id also be shocked if theres a 3rd straight conference champ with 17+ league wins. Gonna be tough nightly.
Notable Big East games the first week of the season:
Monday, November 4th:
Missouri State at Butler - 6:45 | FS1
St. Peter's at Seton Hall - 7:30 | FS1
^Part of FS1's Whip around coverage on opening night.
Wednesday, November 6th:
Columbia at Villanova - 7:00 | CBSSN
Friday, November 8th:
George Mason at #18 Marquette - 9:00 | Peacock
Glad I did this exercise. Had no idea Big East games are now on Peacock.
I honestly think this is his last year if he can't do something.
A ton of guys jumped ship and it's not like they had better places to go.
The peacock takeover making its way to BE is my personal nightmare coming alive.
At least for this year it’s just George Mason and 3 league games vs projected bottom feeders for us. But still.
Yeah, I was just reading up on it, and it looks like it's 30 total games on Peacock, plus the Big East tournament 1st round and QF's. I already have Peacock so it's not that big of a deal from a monetary standpoint, but it is annoying trying to go back and forth between that and other games. Last year for B1G games, I basically had the Peacock games on my phone/iPad with the volume turned off and had ESPN/2/U/FS1/BTN etc on cable on the TV with the volume turned up. By the time you close out of the app, get back to cable switch to the channel, the commercial break is basically over. So that didn't last long. I will say from a production standpoint and analyst standpoint NBC/Peacock is very high quality.
Yeah, I was pretty surprised Dixon stayed. Coulda went basically anywhere. And hell, while he isn’t exactly an NBA big, not sure wtf he’s gonna add in year 5. So also surprised he even stayed in college.
Neptune somehow lured Poplar tho. He’s a nice player from a good program.
I can't believe some of these guys are still in school like Kalbrenner and what not. I almost thought Justin Moore could pull another year out of his ass, he's 24.
I think the Big East is kind of on an island for now.
It's hard to compare them to the other conferences because they have 16-20 schools and they are a notch above any other conference.
I think even WITHOUT UConn, they are still a half notch above the next best conference which is gonna be the PAC-12 with Gonzaga.
I think it will help the Big East in the beginning. These mega conferences are gonna beat each other up and some of these schools are gonna suck.
I say it every year. Kalk hype is a joke. Dixon probably goes for 30 on him again. His defense is so overrated. And if you’re 7’2 and using year 5. You simply ain’t that good. Dickinson is way better and he hasn’t improved in 3 goddamn years.
BE should stay consistently strong thanks to having a lot of teams with good histories, fanbases and budgets. Also elite coaching as of now. Assuming UConn stays. They have to to keep it at 10 tho. That’s their edge on the “football conferences”.
Unfortunately Shaka went and allowed Dayton to have their Super Bowl in December as they wait for a miracle invite.
