Big Ten Basketball

Thank god the gophers stole that Iowa home game.

This team really isnt very good. But should still comfortably get in.

Back to back awful performances. It's pretty sad we were up by 14 after 10 minutes and lose by 20, without one of thier better players. Given the rest of our road games, I doubt we win a game on the road. Going to have to not lose at home to feel completely comfortable. But that's no guarantee with home games against Illinois, Purdue, and Rutgers. The way we've played the last two games, we are only winning 2 the rest of the way if we play like that.

I still think we should be fine considering 1. the schedule overall is pretty easy(relative to Big10 standards) and 2. Even though we have shown 0 signs of life in a single road game, its super hard to believe we dont at least accidentally win 1.

My biggest issue is still that it appears Pitino does no actual coaching especially at half. Yesterdays start was kinda fools gold with a poor shooting team starting 6/8 from deep. After that we proceeded to run 0 actual offense. And thats the issue with pitino, its a bunch of guys stand around and watch Carr.

Carr and Robbins are both pretty legit at their positions(even if RObbins should never dribble and is weak for 7 footer). The rest of the team are role player types with game to game potential to contribute. That isn't a terrible thing IF you have a coach that can design some sort of game plan for that. But he never does.

Instead we basically bank on Carr feeling it(home games) and the rest of the team feeding off that.

I will say though, its hard to blame Pitino for Gach apparently forgetting how to even play the sport.

Gach has been a massive disappointment. It's been pretty frustrating the last couple games. I won't be surprised by anything that happens from here on out. Whether we play ourselves out of the tournament, or play like we have been earlier and are a 5-7 seed type of team.

I can take one look at MSU and see the problem. These guys are weak looking compared to Izzo's best teams. Strength coach?

They also have no PG and no real leader or go to guy.

Its just a bunch of guys and like you said, they are not real big either.

Last two recruiting classes been pretty bad. Looks like the next one stepping it back to their usual

Marquette is fucking awful. This is hard to watch

Speaking of PG's, you guys want Carton back?!?!?

As bad as MU is, they will never be part of the Big 10.
Thank God. We don't need another Nebraska

I'd actually contemplate killing myself if we stay on the Iowa track of 20+ years between second weekend appearnces.

Luckily we got about a 14 year head start on that one.

Garcia could've gone anywhere and he chose this dogshit program. Shame

1. No he couldn't have unless he wanted to ride the bench at a blue blood...still little interest.

2. He chose a program that actually gets guys to the NBA.

Coulda done much worse, coulda spent time in a state like Iowa for a program that gets 1-2 guys a cup of coffee every 20 years.

Word, I look forward to seeing what he can do in the NIT this year.

Looks like NIT might have been a little presumptuous.

Why are you still talking Marquette basketball on a BIg10 thread???

Are you that jealous of a program that can actually have occasional tournament success while getting guys to the NBA??

Iowa has 4 NCAA tournament wins this century.
I know what Iowa hoops is. Dickface thinks Marquette is CBB royalty. I've shown him multiple all time CBB rankings that have Iowa and Marquette virtually the same. Both middle of the road programs, but one is trending higher than the other.

We were on a Twins thread, and he was attacking my Twins opinion on "what would a hawkeye fan know anyway"

MN has 2 NCAA tournament wins in the last 25 years

Nope, just think you're a fucking clown.
