I honestly didn’t think they would get Elizabeth Shue back when this started. Then I wasn’t surprised that they got her by season 3.

Pretty obvious theory throughout the show, in Krese’s backstory flashbacks, and absolutely the guy Krese calls right at the end of season 3.

Question left is if Mike Barnes shows up with him too.
 
Just finished season 4. I’ll leave it simple for now….overall great enjoyment again, sprinkled in with some meh parts that only Cobra Kai can do.

They took on tackling major twists this season, and they pulled it off.

I thought it was the weakest of the 4 seasons as the “gags” and inside jokes are getting stale.

I see where there is going to be a fifth season but I think they need to wrap everything then up as these kids will be graduating.

In my typical way I said a lot without saying anything. I also didn’t want to comment so much on the season so soon.

It was watchable and enjoyable for me….but I agree….it was the weakest season.

To me….I’m pretty much done with the Larussos. I wouldn’t have thought that years ago if presented with this shows premise. I like the wife. I think they get her character right.

But, I am getting sick of Daniels “Mr Miyagi once said” bullshit. And Sam….she clearly can’t fight. Selling her as being this good is not pretty. Finally, I really don’t give a fuck about the son. Fuck Anthony.

The only good thing that came out of him this season was Kenny. I really like the story of Kenny. He’s kind of like a young Daniel, except he found his way to the Cobra Kai and was accepted (thanks to Robby).

They took Robby WAY too far on a heel turn this season. It was a silly caricature by the tournament. And the small scene with Johnny at the very end just made it all jerky and slapdash. At least the one I saw (and wanted) to win the boys title won it.

I will say….they clearly have a Netflix budget now and it shows. Just not in the storytelling.

It’s been a fun ride and great nod to everyone that grew up in the 80s but it’s running out of gas. Do one more season, wrap it up and give everyone a happy ending. Don’t milk this thing anymore.

Honestly a few changes and they could’ve wrapped it up this go around.

I get the feeling Netflix wanted more than one original season. And, maybe that helps explain some of the bloat and drag to the story this season. They might have only had this far in mind, and now they are dragging a bit.

One more season is worth it for the nostalgia ride. I can’t think of too many shows that still went strong after 5 seasons.

They still set up some things….I guess Johnny is going to fight the cartels. Chozen coming back around with Daniel could be neat. And, it does set up to at least see Mike Barnes now. Why not, they have brought everyone else back.

Ohhhhh yeah. Not sure why I keep forgetting her. Maybe because the only link in her movie to the other three is dead. But, if they really want to do it they can make that link work, I guess.

Miyagi was like a father to Danny. Just because we didn’t see these two interact on screen doesn’t mean they didn’t know each other. In fact, I find it more believable that they have a rather close relationship at this point than them not knowing each other.

Fair points. I can hardly remember her Karate Kid movie, just remember Daniel wasn’t in it.

Same. I can only remember her and Miyagi. And that Daniel wasn’t in it. Can’t even remember who the baddies were.

It’s as possible as anything at this point that they bring her in. Unless they want to disavow that movies existence.
 
Michael Ironside was the villain in Karate Kid Horseface.....err Hillary Swank.

He must have had some back taxes to pay or something.
 
Thought it was a solid season. Better than most crap Netflix puts out now. Would like to see this series on its own terms rather than Netflix bleed it dry and eventually cancel.
 
On 3rd episode of the new season.

Sucks butt so far.
