A QB who scrambles, rolls out or can get more than the occasional 7-yd scamper for a 1st down is not a running QB. There are plenty of QBs who know when to extend plays by leaving the pocket as it collapses -- they use their legs to do this. By contrast, a running QB is the sort of player who has the offense largely built around their ability to run the ball. They have a bunch of set QB plays, attract spies on defense and will throw the ball much less in clutch situations. An abridged list of examples:What do you define as a "running QB"? Lamar Jackson and Daniel Jones both just got big second contracts, and I'd definitely call both of them running QBs. Hell, Vick got two massive contracts in his career. If you don't let him run, then there's no reason to even keep him. You can't just take away one of his biggest strengths. He looks significantly worse this year than he did last year passing, but that's because he's being forced into being a full-time pocket passer which he never will be.
