Damn near disappeared, but they're supposedly making a comeback.

It's where dad always stopped for gas on family vacations pulling a pop-up camper. We'd eat at the diner and load up with snacks for the next leg of the trip. Pecan Log Rolls were necessity.

I remember stopping at one of these every time we would drive out to Phoenix to visit my grandma. Apparently, the original one in Santa Barbara is the only one left. But apparently changed it's name to "Chad's" in 2020.

Many of the restaurants were bought out and they were renamed Denny's Restaurants.

Many believed it was the same owners and that they just renamed the old restaurants with the new name. It wasn't true but that didn't stop the public for demanding they all be shuttered anyway.

Yeah. They used to have a ton of signs along the routes we took while traveling... kinda like the Burma Shave signs were!

My first (legal) job when I was 15 at the one in Tulsa.
First one opened in OKC in '68-'93
Second in Tulsa in '71-'11
The last was Denver in '73-'20

Not the best food, but awesome restaurant - complete with cliff divers.

Trey Parker and Matt Stone bought the one in CO and say it will reopen.
