TV Series Game of Thrones: House of the Dragon

So the two things that bothered me:

1) Deamon choking the Queen out of nowhere. He has never really ever been hostile towards her at any point in the 20 year time span or whatever during this season. Seemed completely out of nowhere.

2) Why the one eyed kid was trying to get the Dragon to not kill the other kid and small dragon. What else was he attempting to do? Just scare him because he was absolutely cutting his eye out if the Baratheon lord didn't stop it.

Also not sure at all what this means:

Show runner saying season 1 was slow paced? It spanned so much time, it couldn't have been at a quicker pace.

Also why when Daemon was pitching Dragon war did the Queen say that these dragons have never been in war before when the dragons were used in war against the crab people.

People were complaining that this season didn't have any action, which is dumb. First season had to do 2 things:
1 - establish who these new characters are and why you should care about them
2 - clearly define what the sides are for the coming conflict and how we got to that point

It accomplished that pretty well I think. If you try to rush to the end because that's where all the action is, then you ruin the story.

I think she was talking about her dragon and the kids Dragons.

1. Something triggered Daemon but I’m not entirely sure what it was. Maybe frustration he was given the crown and she won’t agree with him on attacking.

2. I think he was trying to scare and bully his cousin. He fucked up big time actually killing him because until that moment they weren’t at war but now they are.

They realized at that moment that Viserys never told Daemon the prophecy, which is supposed to be passed down to each heir, meaning Viserys never truly regarded Daemon as his heir even though Daemon was the named heir for many years until Viserys changed the heir to Rhaenyra. That was why Daemon was angry.

The only dragons used in that war were Daemon's and Laenor's, and Laenor's is now riderless. Rhaenyra was referring to the other dragons (Rhaenys's; her sons'; Leana's daughters'), which have indeed never been to war.

Maybe Aemond was going to take his eye then and there if allowed. Maybe he knew it wouldn’t be allowed for there.

But, once in the air nothing as benign as an eye removal can be done. So….he was just trying to torment him.

The ego on this kid at this point….he just didn’t have proper dragon training that I can see. Once his dragon got fired on there was no controlling him any further.

Ooopppsie.

LOL calling an eye removal benign. The GOT universe really messes with your sense of morality and ethics.

It’s funny because we are like “no big deal just take an eye out” because it can be so much more brutal on the show.

Ser Erryk got to Dragonstone from Kings Landing in under two days.

The Queen who never was told us VizzyT had been dead one or two days. And I’m assuming the dead baby funeral was the next day.

So, either Kings Landing is really not that far, he also stole a dragon, or they have speed boats.

Bah ha ha.

I could try to say all I was doing was trying to highlight how he couldn’t simply maim Luke from dragon back….but I like the point you make.

It really does desensitize.

I’ve been blessedly lucky to never see the tragedy of a still born birth…until last night. Sigh.

It’s not very far from KL to Dragonstone.

I think I read recently 2 days by boat and a so many hours by dragon back.

We talked about it earlier in this thread. But he got there a day after a lady on dragonback.

1 didnt bother me at all. He always thought his bro was soft. Now, he thinks his wife is being soft. He’s impressing on her the stakes.

2. Totally stupid. He just threatened the kid’s eyeball and his life in the hall two minutes before. We’re supposed to think he’s just employing tomfoolery now. Just stupid writing.

I think it is kinda like road rage. You don’t actually want to kill the other driver, you are just mad. Both the boys tried to reign in their dragons, but the dragons are living beasts and weren’t able to be contained.

KL and DS are not that far away from each other. I equate it (somewhat ignorantly, granted) to LA/Vegas or maybe LA/SF. I am more surprised that the news hadn’t reached DS before Rhaenys got there than I am at Erryk’s timing. It is kinda a dereliction of leadership that Rhaenyra didn’t have her own spy’s in KL to keep her appraised of the daily goings on. Everyone else has spy’s in every roadside grill in Westros, but Rhaenyra doesn’t have a single ear in KL?

That has nothing to do with what I said.

Her dad didn’t have a spy ring either. I think it’s the ones who aren’t supposed to lead that do such things. Daemon, Alicent etc.
