Mock Drafts : Chat

Steph Curry would never. He just lifts his franchise up. Him and MJ built the same....
He would if he got drafted to CLE..hey at least he would have played with an old Shaq though

I think the NBA would be more fun if they made the court three times bigger and there were 10 players on the court for each team have them wear protective gear, no fouls and and then have another basket at 20 feet and make that a 5 point shot and of course use the 6 point line!!

Can you swap the court for ice the ball for a puck and have them move the pucks with sticks rather than dribble and use nets a goalie in front of each ?

I think it would be funner if they went back to mid 80's rules. NFL as well

The problem with those scenarios is that the league's rules have been altered to protect the stars. Because both of those leagues are such huge cash cows, they can't afford to see their best players continually go down.

I would prefer more of the mid 90's rules. More contact, but less excessive like the 80's. At least for NBA. The NBA can't go back though to illegal defense rules now because the NBA has adapted the 3 point shot to such a huge part of the game. If they did, it would mean that instead of soft doubles or hedges, it means that if you wanted to double team a player they have to commit right away otherwise their team gets called for a T. Means a lot of open shooters.

I'm not gonna be able to run the next draft, with work being hectic and Emily just getting out of the hospital last night I just won't have time, sorry fellas but hey Shane is awesome at running the drafts and you won't have to deal with me, win win!!

Yeah, it's a good draft concept. Do it for baseball as well.

We should do this same idea for NFL. AFC/NFC but lets think about the rules before

the only real stipulations I think is that it should be 22 not 24(prevent too many WHO CARES positions)…

and make it that we have to start the same positions... don't want mismatches like 4 WRs vs only 2 CBs

and I would use anywhere from a 60-90 cap... 4 X 22=88... But there are still a lot of positions people are going to punt... like FB, and at least one LB, and at least one CB/S...

current Players must have played at least 100 games(don't think we need to limit retired players) and current players all get a fee of 1 PB since this PB has not been had yet...

Not many things I hate in the drafts but including current players is one thing I despise, it's happening in this draft people taking current players to save some money and we can all vote however we want obviously but teams that have current players will lose in my voting if it's close.

I like 100 game rule...

I'm thinking an $85 cap and yes 22 players total but I do think you should be able to choose between a 2nd TE or FB...

QB
RB
FB/TE - (I think you should get to choose between a FB or a 2nd TE - either way a LB will be matched up with this player)
2 WR
TE
5 OL

Front 7
2 CB
2 S

There has to be a balance for sure but there are plenty of current players at the same price as a player whose career is over and their peak is already much higher even halfway into the career. I don't like your logic of they are "current" so if it's close I am giving it to the players' career that is over...sometimes, sure, but there are a ton of current players that are better they just have a better price tag for cap drafts. I think every scenario should be looked at differently.

Example: I would take DeAndre Hopkins over just about any other WR at $4 whose career is over. He is the best WR in the NFL (arguably) and has some of the best hands ever. I would take him over say Cliff Branch all day, everyday.

You just proved my point.

in my proposal he would be 5... not 4...

There are great players being drafted that right now have say a $4 cap but when they retire their cap hit could be $9. You are not paying the full cost for these top players of today, I am honestly amazed nobody else has a problem with this.
