Is George awake? DO SOMETHING.

My guess is Oregon announces their B1G move by Friday
The B1G doesn’t want the Ducks. Maybe the Big 12 will take you

Uh, wouldn't they have to be invited first?

So let's say Arizona bolts tomorrow no way it doesn't take a week for ASU to follow and then Utah has to make a decision. I think Oregon and Washington have more time to vet the situation but they will be on the clock.

I don't see the PAC surviving Arizona, ASU, Colorado, UCLA, USC and Utah leaving even if Oregon and Washington seem to want to stay. There just aren't the teams out there that can cough up to 30mm to join the PAC on what would be a gamble at this point. I guess it isn't out of the question they could invite 6 teams from the MWC and fold that league. It would probably look like something like the below:

SDSU
Boise State
Air Force
UNLV
Utah State
Colorado State

The problem is no way they get anywhere close to B12 money at that point and Oregon and Washington would be gone.

If Arizona leaves i dont think ASU and Utah look to leave until Oregon and or Washington do. i dont think it takes both of those to leave for them to look to get out.
The 30+ mil would probably be negotiated down some and i dont think they would have to pay it out in 1 lump sum.
I think the Pac deal is losing money by the day but still think the deal will end up 4 or 5 times what the MWC currently gets.

Most of what you write is not incorrect.

I don’t think ASU or Utah wait on Washington or Oregon as they probably go if the PAC deal isn’t better than the Big 12 especially ASU. ASU isn’t going to want Arizona to have a perceived advantage over them and they aren’t taking less money than Arizona.

Also, why would any school in the PAC put their eggs in OU or UW at this point? Both would be out the door in a second if they could get a B1G bid.

ASU and Utah also can’t afford to miss their window and that is exactly why the Big 12 has been courting Memphis and UConn because there are only so many slots that can be filled.

I don’t see this anywhere close to what you do.

If/when Arizona makes it official I’m almost expecting the Big12 to go full court press after Cal to get a footprint in California and another flagship university then Utah (unless that deal is already on the back room table and may well be of course). They lost Texas and that flagship in that state, and they want new areas for brand expansions (Mexico hoops deal ect.) so.. it would make sense imo.

I've never even thought of them going after Cal or Cal having interest but based on the California argument it would make sense. I see three problems:

1. The Big 12 can't go hard after Cal as Cal has to start the dialog first or its potential tampering. I'm not sure Cal would move fast enough for that to happen. The Big12 can't let big schools like AZ, ASU and Utah get away if they can land them.
2. Does the Cal bd of trustees want to be part of the Big 12 as that is a whole different culture?
3. If all this goes down my strong suspicion is that Oregon and Washington follow and the Big 12 has to leave spots open so who at that point is left out? There are only so many spots you can fill.

but also consider BigXII has BYU and if the get Arizona why would they need Utah and ASU?

The Holy War would be a great get and something the conference could really market. Plus Utah would become one of the better teams in the conference from day one.

ASU they don’t really need.

I think they take both to make sure they kill the PAC and it increases their chances of getting Oregon and Washington at that point.

Big 12 is playing the long game eliminating competition with their sites on that 3rd spot.

BYU, Baylor and TCU? I thought Cal didn't want anything to do with religious based schools.

So we had a deal this whole time and just wanted to relegate Colorado...that's what I'm going with

Doubt it. He'll likely present the best option he got which from what I've seen is shit.

He's got to do something with all the rumors regarding mass exodus to the Big 12/Big 10.
