Texpectations: Longhorn Superthread

WVU has never had a 5 star DB. The state of WV had one this close but he moved to California and went down to a 4 star. He committed to herm. Isaiah Johnson
ahh that's who i was thinking of.. didn't realize they dropped a star on him

I have a friend that lives down there that says the climate in Austin now days does not lend itself to the toughness that is required in the game. Made me think, are there any really successful programs right now that are in largely liberal cities?

lmao.. so it's a political thing? Reason why Ingram fumbled at the 1 yard line was because he had a liberal full summer? Or Tom was taking chances on 4th downs in the ISU game because of him having a belly full of liberal BBQ?

Newsflash.. most college towns/cities/villages are liberal.

Most true college towns are gonna be liberal. I’m willing to bet Columbus, OH is a liberal stronghold. I know Athens-Clarke County, GA is a blue dot surrounded by red

The professors are but not necessarily the students.

Dude has a point about toughness though because kids are getting soft and the helicopter culture is making it where kids can't cope with discipline and failure. It's starting to impact the game where if players don't get their way they are transferring instead of sticking it out, working hard to develop and doing it the old fashion way.

My hometown has gotten a lot more affluent in the last 25 years and my old high school DC just retired so I was talking to him and he said they had great kids but they didn't have that little bit of crazy edge you needed to truly play football like you should and the wins have become harder to come by. He said they are too comfortable and not out doing the crazy stuff and getting into the trouble we were at their age because society won't let them and has them locked down.

The argument of Austin being distracted is overblown, sure there is much more to do there than other college cities/towns.. But so is LA during the SC era.. It's not the players, it's the coaching.

Yeah but that has nothing to do with being a conservative or a liberal. Generations change regardless of personal political choices. Guess we need to whip these kids with extension cords again to make them tough.. then UT football will be successful then?

Nah, put them on drilling rigs or cattle ranches in the summer.

There is still at least one college town that hasn't drank all the kool-aid. Cleveland County, Oklahoma went 58.1% Trump and 41.9% Biden.

Travis County, Texas went 73.4% Biden and 26.6% Trump.

Blessed are those who choose the righteous path and defy the heathen. 1 Fallopians 1:3

Herman after firing:

"I am extremely thankful for the opportunity to have been the head coach at the University of Texas," Herman said, according to a tweet with the attached statement via Yahoo Sports' Pete Thamel. "It has been a great honor, and as an alumnus, Texas will always hold a special place in my heart.

"I also want to thank the players that I've been blessed to coach. You have represented the University with dignity and have given your all in an effort to make your program better.

"And to the coaches and staff who have poured their heart and soul into this program, my appreciation has no bounds. Your efforts have been the backbone of our successes.

"Finally, my family and I wish nothing but success and happiness to Longhorn nation in the future

Not sure how any who voted for either would be proud of their vote

UTEXAS is a basketball school now. Everybody chill.

Looks like Curt Flood and Jeff Banks are for sure coming with Sark from Bama.

The Muschamp thing is weird.. IT is saying he didn't turn the job down, another outlet reported that, and they haven't heard the same thing. Have no idea what to make of that.

Stan Drayton is staying as RB coach

And Iowa State is now a Football School!

It's Freaky Friday, or Tuesday, or whatever the hell day of the week it is!
Once Kansas is a Football School....it means they probably brought this guy back. What the hell ever happened to him?
