tOfficial “Weed Growers” Thread

That's great.
This might be a problem,,,,,letting Municipalities fuck with the law.

From the Article:

Can your community ban home-grow marijuana in NY?

''No. But local municipalities may enact and enforce regulations relating to home cultivation of cannabis provided they don't "completely ban or prohibit home cultivation."

That would seem to me to be a quick way to get voted out. But people that live in cities...live by city rules. Sucks to be them. City people need regulating anyways.

A lot of places don’t like indoor growing because of the damage it does to the house. You get mould and things like that from people who don’t do it properly. If I was a landlord, I would be anxious about that.

I took a picture or two yesterday with my phone and I was trying to post them but they were too fucking big. I haven’t figured out how to adjust the sizes on my phone yet so the hell with that plan. But my two are flowering profusely at the moment. I hope they continue to do so.

My auto flower basically has no big sun leafs right now. It’s just in bud mode. And I didn’t pick them off they’re just not there. It’s a completely different kind of plant.

And I decided I’m going to sprout my last three seeds and go for it. This has worked so quickly that I think I’m going to be able to get those three ripe and ready to rock well before the end of September.

I just found a quart mason jar with full of Chunkadelic. It was the first seeds I grew last season.
It's seasoned up good, and I am trying it now.

Eary indications point towards a very positive outcome.
Probably an ounce, and it smells great.
It's like finding money in an old suit pocket.

Last year had some good and bad, but I'll chock that up to learning.

This year, I'm thinking of concentrating on Autoflowers mostly, for a lot of reasons, but really, being allowed 12 plants at a time, I can easily grow 24+ plants next summer.

The problem I'm running into with the autoflowers is the first 2 weeks of growth. It has to get better/bigger faster.
I think this is due to my 'cold plug' I plant directly into is too large, and the roots take too long to hit the good stuff.

The Super Soil I built last year, I don't think was strong enough, so I'm going to make it considerably 'hotter' this year.

Start with 40 lbs of this

Then I'm adding in 7 lbs of this
View attachment 116021

Then 2 lbs of Bone Meal
Then 1 lbs of Blood Meal.

So, that's 10 lbs of organic fertilizers into that 40 lb bag that already has some stuff in it.
I'll let you know if it burns the plants up.

I have it mixed up in storage 'cooking'.
It will have 3 months on it before I use it, so cross my fingers.

Ok
Update time.

This didn't work out as well as I wanted.

First, without any dirt in it, it has a tendency to dry out super quick. Needing 2-3 waterings a day when in grow bags.

Second, even though it sounded like a lot of added organic fertilizer, it fell way short.
Not even close to enough to get thru a grow, and have been top dressing and using liquid fertilizers for months now, and even with that, getting some yellowing of leaves.

What I went to was a 50/50 mix with this stuff and some Ocean Forest, with some added fertilizers.

What this stuff is good for is it makes the soil fluffy and easy for roots to grow thru it. Instead of using Perlite, I use this, plus it breaks down in the soil, so I will use it as such.

Bottom Line.......don't bother, there are better alternatives.

My 3 seeds have all sprouted in less than 5 days. I use potting soil and those little egg carton sized peat pods. Lousy pic but this is the fertilizer I'm using. Clyde.

I'm still have to get through September. So another 90 days. But the girls are all chest to eye level and looking good.

I’m glad I started the first two when I did and use my little greenhouse because it’s going to allow me to get two crops. These three that I got on the go to start now will really be done by the end of September maybe mid October.

The auto flowers get to the end so much faster. I can see why people migrate to them.

I'm not sure how your sun is, but mine doesn't do well in the second half of the season with autoflowers. We have already started losing daylight so at the end of the growing season, round 2 of the auto flowers are struggling with the lack of daylight and the cold weather at a time they are trying to bud.

Where the regular plants seem to be used to that loss of light and frost sometimes actually puts color into buds that are just awesome to look at.

I'll be interested to see how you do with the second run. :yo:

I'm germinating some autoflower seeds now.
Trying to get a 2nd grow in before the freeze.

We generally have nice early Octobers

Have 2 autoflowers sprouted and about 3 inches tall.
Just bought some more autoflower seeds and put one seed in water.

I think I have just enough time to get them in the ground and fully matured by Halloween.
Have 1 more month on the 2 autoflowers I have in grow bags

My three are now about 4 inches tall and are on their third set of leaves with the fourth showing.

Will you be able to finish them outside before a freeze, or maybe in your greenhouse

What is the date of your average first freeze up there.
Mine is November 8th down here.

I should be good. We don’t get freezing till November maybe December. I’m hoping for an Indian Summer that carries into October. Once they’re big I can’t use my greenhouse. It’s for starting things only. It’s only 3 feet high.
