USPS is finally failing

last year I had some issues and only one was on the shipping service...it was showing up as lost at a distribution center.

so I called the company I ordered from and they told me they would send me another one and I got that one pretty quickly.

then the first one showed up...

so I gots 2 of dem
That happens with Amazon from time to time. However the last two times it has happened the original order still has never arrived. I assume it is in a ravine in Alabama.

I shipped my Son's Christmas box by UPS.
Regular ground shipping $25

Had an option for 2 day guarantee for like $50
Or an overnight air for like $200.

It got there in a day and a half.

I've only purchased one thing in Amazon in the last year and they had USPS do the final leg of it. Surprisingly it went well.

I see those fucking unmarked vans on our street like 5 times a day though. They're buzzin.
Yeah I've noticed that USPS mail delivery now arrives at like 6pm when it used to be here by noon. But instead I'll see the same creaky truck doing rounds at 8am, delivering packages to front doors. I assume Amazon has a better contract than first class mail does so they get that knocked out early and then do normal mail stuff.

I'm ok with that. I can wait to get the junk mail that goes in the shredder.

That was me this week. I had an "out for deliver" and the latest update was 4pm that day it was in Seatac, WA. Two days later it actually arrived.

I had an 'out for delivery' by FedEx, and of course it didn't show up.
The next day it showed 'Pending'.............................
It showed up that day.

WTF

Amazon is paying people to drive their own vehicles now. Cant imagine driving around for Jeff in your own car. Dummies.

We do this work secret Santa thing (set a price limit on amazon and can have it shipped straight to the person anonymously, each person can make their wish list) and I bought mine yesterday. Chose the "no rush" deliver for the $1 digital credit since even that was saying it would be there on 12/9 and our party isn't until a week after that. Got an alert this morning that it will be delivered tomorrow. Ha. So much for 'no rush'.

I ordered a bunk bed for my oldest a few years ago. One of the drawers underneath was kinda busted so I asked for a replacement. They sent me a whole new bed. I ask about returning the old one and they said it was too expensive to return. So my little one got the same bed. I went and got a piece of wood to replace the broken one

I can only hope it pays better than driving your own car for a restaurant or Uber. If I had an electric car or one that got huge MPG I might do that. Turn on the Ticket and listen to the radio while driving around town and making money. Doesn't seem like a terrible job for a HS kid.

I like how Amazon will show free delivery, but it will be 3 weeks, so they can try and sell you Prime.
A couple of times Amazon made sure my package sat around at a few facilities to waste time, I guess to prod you into signing up.
But when you order 3 months early, they can go fuck themselves, I don't care.

Other times on the same deal, the package gets her in 2 days even though they wanted you to think it would be 2 weeks.

I don't understand the Amazon logistics.

I always select the free option when I get shit.

So it takes 4-5 daysish.

But they always choose to either 2 day or overnight it.

The fuck is the point of making me sit in the corner if you're going to rush it to me anyway?

It all depends on where your order fits into their algorithm. They aren't rushing anything, you just happen to be in a convenient location and what you are ordering it being picked off the shelf because it's close to something else that was picked.

Amazon Prime is a scam as well. I've received the last few orders from Amazon in a day or two without paying for Prime or expedited shipping. Hell, I placed one order about a year ago at around 10 a.m. in the morning and got the package at 3 p.m. that afternoon. At that point I was unaware that they had opened an enormous distribution center about 6 miles up the road in Hooksett so it caught me by surprise. Haven't waited more than a couple of days for anything since.

Truth.

The rate time I'll ever shop on Amazon is if prices are exponentially better than ALL other competitors, but the fact they ship for free, why the fuck would you pay for prime?

I pay for it to get the guaranteed next day delivery. It's nice when it accidentally happens, but better when I can get it guaranteed. And lately it has been free same day guaranteed. Plus I love the OG Top Gear and their streaming service has its moments.

Checked on my package that's been sitting at the Post Office a mile away since Monday.

The perk for me 5 years ago when I had it was they would ship slow as shit and it would take like 10 days. And I liked the free music.

Now they fast ship, I don't watch TV and they nuked the music from what I remember. Not to mention, them incentivizing students and people on welfare with cheaper prime memberships is fucking gross.

Amazon Music is still a thing, it is not nuked

A boomer client outside Tampa couldn't handle e-sig. So, I mailed her a document to sign. She received the letter 8 days later. She mailed it back a week ago and it still isn't here.

Complete breakdown.
