VGK

Well, I never really had a team. Always leaned toward the Blackhawks or the Islanders, but never really thought of them as my team. Then the Vegas shooting happened, the hockey team came out and did a bunch to help raise spirits, they were a team of players not worthy of protection that made a spectacle in honor of the city and went to the Finals in year one when no one really even gave them a chance to make the playoffs. They seemed to just run on hype or a drive that felt like a brotherhood connection and I just really liked and respected that. So then I started rooting for them throughout the season, the playoffs (then I saw the pregame playoff shows which were awesome lol).... and I felt comfortable enough to say that they are my team.

It just felt right. I still like the Blackhawks and Islanders, but it isn't the same as it is with VGK. I actively root for the Knights and get excited annnnnd I just more or less hope the Blackhawks and Islanders win lol.

you got it. This team really embraced this city when that happened and it was genuine. Hockey guys are the best professional athletes of all the major sports. Very down to earth.

During their first year here my buddy was taking his very young son to eat at a restaurant. They went to a local casino (not on the strip) and he was wearing a Fleury jersey. Some lady walks up to him (he was very young. Maybe 7?) and asks him if fleury was his favorite player. He very excitedly said “yes”! She asked if he wanted to meet him? Before he could answer the lady called out “hey Marc... come here”. It was fleurys wife and she had called him over. He stayed talked to my buddy’s kid and took several pics. Very very cool!

They are great guys.

That is a truly awesome story. Love hearing stuff like that.

I edited my previous post, but yeah... I'm not a Vegas resident, but I would imagine that what VGK was able to do in that first season was about as much as a sports franchise could do to rally a city together. Just awesome effort.

And Fleury was amazing that season.

absolutely! That was a crazy ride! Lotta fun. They’ve been able to sustain it too!

Tough loss. Knights don’t lose many third periods like that.
Yeah, if it wasn't obvious, I didn't even want to talk about that game lol.

But looking good tonight. Blues are slipping though.

I smell a bromance cooking

you’ll always be my number 1

Nice seeing Reaves rile up some guys, but 2 goals this early and a breakaway, not good. St Louis looks in a good rhythm right now.

This season sucks lol. I am so tired of seeing all the same teams play each other, I thought it was going to be a big deal, but not THAT big of a deal. It will certainly make the post season very interesting though.

With that said, start using the Purple and Gold colors full time again Kings, wtf is wrong with you.

They’ve been on a tear. Let’s see how they do against better teams. Still... I’ll take it.

Hi Peter.

Yeah, I am curious if they will take the time to lay up, remain healthy and come into the playoffs hot or if they will keep playing hard throughout the regular season.

I'm really going to be keeping an eye on those Colorado and Minnesota games.

Fun Fact: (hope I don't jinx this) Vegas has not lost to the Baby Sharks once this season. 7-0 all year with one more game left.... the last game. A perfect season sweep sounds really nice lol.

10 game win streak with last nights win.
