What are you reading?

the fantasy books haven't really been scratching the itch for me lately, so I picked up a copy of A River Runs Through It. I am enjoying it so far...short read.

Also started Devil Says Bang by Richard Kadrey, which is I think the 4th Sandman Slim book. It's not a bad, mindless read to finish off the year.

A River Runs Through It. Winter must read. I have fished those waters. They haunt me.

I finally read that a couple years ago. They did a really good job with the movie.

Reading Bowling Alone and went back to the Harry Dresden files, I'm up to White Knight. I should finish that series by February

I hope there is a new Dresden Files book in 2025.

I have never seen A River Runs Through It on the screen but will be watching it after I finish

The series keeps getting better and better with each book. 15, 16, and 17 are off the charts levels of badass.

Nemesis

Wilbur Smith (co-written by somebody else). I suspect finished off after Wilbur's passing.

Starts with a beheading in France and heads down to Africa afterwards. I fully expect entertaining goodness.

Breezed through White Knight, but now I gotta wait until I finish Wind and Truth before getting the next one. Johnny Marcone just keeps getting a bigger and bigger role, love it when he and Hendricks are in the story

You’ll be glad to know that Marcone will be a major player going forward. He’s a great villain. I love the Troubleshooters. If there’s trouble, they shoot it haha

Finished Wind and Truth this morning. It was everything I hoped it would be. I’m not sure what to even start next.

Sister in law got me this for Christmas and I’ve been working on it today. It’s silly as hell so far. I quite enjoy Pargin’s books.

Memory Man by David Baldacci. The first book in the Amos Decker series. Great read so far.
I enjoy that series. I also read his Aloysius Archer series.

I tried Atlee Pine...just didn't do it for me.

I just wasn't a fan of John Dies at the End....
I can understand that, it’s super weird and niche but I loved them and blew through all four books in a month.

I read the first book in the Camel Club series as well. That one I will continue with.
I think I get his attempt to write a female lead...but he just isn't good for it...too much "girl power" kind of shit worked into it.

I've only read the first book in the series titled "The Camel Club". All the main characters are men, led by the character Oliver Stone (John Carr). Did the series shift? Doesn't seem like it could.

I meant the Atlee Pine series, sorry.

The next book I received as a gift at Christmas. I don’t really have any idea what the book is about other than that it has time loop elements. I let someone know the vibe I was looking for and this is what they came up with so Ill see how it goes.
