As far as what I’m learning, I heard this for the first time in years on the way to work this morning, it’s gonna be the next song I learn

In my neighborhood right now:I have a 75 dollar Japanese fiddle that sounds just as good as the one I’d rather not say how much I spent on. I learned the fiddle pretty quick. The hardest thing for you would probably be getting used to no frets and getting smooth with the bow.
Hey IP, I'm thinking of getting a mandolin. I'll probably go cheap but I don't wanna go so cheap that I'll get a piece of junk that's unplayable. You got a recommendation?Use banjo picks on the mandolin too.
I don’t currently have one, the last one I had was an Ibanez. It was about 300 bucks new. I traded it for my guitar. It was a good one, but I haven’t ever had a cheapo mandolin to review. I’m sure you could get a used Ibanez pretty reasonable thoughHey IP, I'm thinking of getting a mandolin. Thanks man, I seen a couple of those advertised on CL and Sweetwater. Also seen a Stadium brand acoustic-electric, I like the idea of having one I can plug inI don’t currently have one, the last one I had was an Ibanez. It was about 300 bucks new. The cool thing about a mandolin though is that it’s chorded the same as a fiddle. Learn the mandolin and get used to finger placement, that’ll help with the no frets on the fiddle and all you’d really need to learn is how to use the bowHey IP, I'm thinking of getting a mandolin. I’ve never had one I could plug in, but when I get a new one, it’ll have that optionThanks man, I seen a couple of those advertised on CL and Sweetwater. Also seen a Stadium brand acoustic-electric, I like the idea of having one I can plug in
Im so into it and enjoying it so much, I'm going to purchase a new Taylor acoustic. Looking at the Academy 12e or the 114e. Currently paying on a Yamaha 411. It's not bad, but the feel and sound on a new Taylor is way better.
A bit more than I would be able to fork out right now. Might have to save a little longer. But yeah, that's a very worthy goal. Now I want to try one.Taylors are the shit. My #1 guitar is a 314ce. The thing just sounds great. I change the strings once a month, and the first week or so, it just sounds and feels so crisp. I love it.
That’s a sharp looking one for sure. To me personally, the gourd shaped mandolins have a better sound, but they’re not as easy on the eyes as the ones with the curl(the name for that style is escaping me right now)I saw a really cool looking "Mandocaster" on Amuhzahn, but the reviews on it were horrible. I'd basically be paying for cuteness, not playability

Think they call the curlicued ones "F-style" and the gourd shaped ones "A-style"That’s a sharp looking one for sure. To me personally, the gourd shaped mandolins have a better sound, but they’re not as easy on the eyes as the ones with the curl(the name for that style is escaping me right now)
I got mine from Sam Ash, and they were running a special, like 0% financing forever, or something.A bit more than I would be able to fork out right now. Might have to save a little longer. But yeah, that's a very worthy goal. Now I want to try one.
Man, somebody was advertising a Gretsch New Yorker for 200$, with a case and strap. But I think they already sold it because the ad went away. I don't think they make those anymore, this might have been a collectibleThat’s a sharp looking one for sure. That would have been a sweet deal. I'm sure it wasn't on the market long at that priceMan, somebody was advertising a Gretsch New Yorker for 200$, with a case and strap. I only started tracking it Monday, not sure how long it was up before then. All I had to do was go over to the Bronx with some cash...That would have been a sweet deal. I'm sure it wasn't on the market long at that price
The owner put the ad back up! I contacted him and offered to buy, just waiting for him to respondThat would have been a sweet deal. I'm sure it wasn't on the market long at that price
Well, that deal didn't happen. I was supposed to go check it out last Saturday but the dude stopped responding to my texts, and then the ad came down again. I guess somebody else got to it. Which is fine, just let me know so I don't keep texting you like a crazed MF'er.The owner put the ad back up! I contacted him and offered to buy, just waiting for him to respond
