World Cup 2022 Qatar

Been reading European outlets and they are making Kai Havertz and Hansi Flick the scapegoats. Havertz 79 minutes, 3 offsides and only 3 touches. By comparison, Goetze and Fullkrug 3 touches in 11 minutes once substitued. Flick for substituting Goetze (who hasn't played a minute for Germany in over 5 years) for Musiala

Canada still in better shape than Germany. They only lost 1-0 to FIFA #2 and they have an aging Croatia and Morocco left. I still like their chances.

Little consolation.

I love the hustle displayed by Canada. They went hockey mode and forechecked and came racing back to backcheck like motherfuckers.

But aside from the penalty, every time the ball was there for somebody, they either took too long, took too many steps or rushed things.

The game was there for them

For the most part, I liked what I saw from Canada today. If they play like that the rest of the way, they have a decent chance of going through. Of course they pretty much have to beat Croatia on Sunday or they're in serious doodoo.

They never quit. Just a half step here or there.

Laryea had a great game, ran himself to death. And Buchanan was very good too.

Who would have think Qatar would suck to stay in
It was a beyond abhorrent decision to host here. Of course it was built on bribery….because….brand.

I'm sure FIFA doesn't care but it's said 6500 migrant workers died prepping for this. Those lives are very much on FIFA's watch.

Been seeing the stories on this for years.

They took in migrant workers from India and Bangladesh. Agencies that got the migrants together charged many $4000 just to be included.

Sent to work in deplorable, unsafe conditions and 125 degree heat.

But, hey, three top FIFA officials each got $1M to pick Qatar.

A lot of low scoring affairs. Goodness.

Portugal just can't quite break through

Weak call against Ghanna considering all the non calls in the cup so far.

I read the PSG purchase was involved in the deal too by Qatar Sports Investments.

Sure, whatever air of legit they felt they needed to do. I guess we can call that improvement?

There is just NO WAY this was the best choice for a site. I’ll never be convinced.

I do agree. PSG sale was not an improvement. PSG being owned by Qatar one of the first country owners never was good. It was worst choice by far.

And I’m sure it was hoped this would throw enough shade to hide the three high ranking FIFA leaders who reportedly got $1M each from Qatar.

Portugal barely hangs on. Their defensive issues cropped up. Surprising with Cancelo and Dias back there how shaky it can be at times.

There could not have been a bigger douche bag be the star for Brazil today. Or any team, any day.

Nice second goal though.

I missed it. Who was it ? Richarleson or Neymar? I know Richarleson got the goals.

Richarleson one of the all game delayers when his team in front.
