The Argentina - Poland game was as boring as it gets if it was a stand alone game. But combined with Mexico - Saudi Arabia, it was intense as hell.
The Polish keeper saved a PK from Messi in the first half, saved a break away goal late in regulation, and their defender headed a chip goal off the line late in stoppage time to preserve the 2-goal loss. When their game ended, they were beating Mexico by mere yellow card count.
Even after they gave up a goal, mexico still only needed to score to advance in the final 2 minutes. Wild stuff.

I was hearing Spain coach was thinking of trying to be second tomorrow to avoid Brazil in the quaterfinals. Let Japan win the game and group. No guarantee if they lose to Japan and Germany puts up a big number on Costa Rica though. Like I think 5-0 or Costa Rica wins. Then Spain would be out. Win and you are in. Both games at the same time. Risky idea, and could backfire, but not out of the realm of happening. Bad news for Germany if they try that.
I just can’t see anyone controlling their own destiny throwing doubt into it, even minor doubt.

True, but just the fact the thought was stated makes you go hmmmmm. Players probably won't go for it, and well tough teams are going to be down the line no matter what. Someone has to beat Brazil, might as well be Spain.
