David and Larin were too much when they had the ball and Buchanan had another strong game.

USA really could use a Panama and Costa Rica loss now. Panama losing, Costa Rica plays Mexico later. Berhalter just a terrible coach. Games they win are in spite of him.

Overreaction. Beating Canada was always going to be tough.

As ugly as Thursday was, this round of play is basically going how i thought for the US. Get 6 out of 9 and still in good shape
 
Mexico just had a draw with Costa Rica. USA remains in 2nd place.

Panama/Mexico on Wednesday. USA home to Honduras.

They should be 3 points or so up on 4th entering the final 4 games

Actually rooting for Mexico on Wednesday.

That would leave them 4 points up on 4th then they get Panama at home which basically can clinch their WC spot even if they lose away to Mexico.

Uh but those road games coming up. At Mexico, at Costa Rica, home Panama. USA had not lost to Canada since early 1990's. No overreaction based on schedule. Honduras could be their last win.

They're in fine shape. The only team in good shape is Canada but all of those teams control their destiny. The team in bad shape is Costa Rica

And if they beat Panama, the are in the WC even if they lose to Mexico and Costa Rica assuming Mexico get all 3 points vs Panama on Wednesday. Win vs Honduras and win vs Panama and ou are likely in.
 
Mexico winning today would have left me more concerned.

Unless you have Panama getting all 6 points vs Canada and Mexico, no real reason to be concerned yet.

True but as bad they play against El Salvador, is that home game vs Panama guaranteed? Panama schedule is tough. Mexico, USA, Canada. Canada still has 3 road games but done with USA and Mexico. Even though lost today, I expected a lot better with an Alphonso Davies out at Canada. USA has Dest at Barcelona, Pulisic at Chelsea, McKennie at Juventus, Adams at Leipzig. Who does Canada have at these typ of teams? David at Lille, but who is Lille. Davies only player on big team and he is out.

Could beat Canada since at home. Canada coaching is great though. USA coaching is shit.

Berhalter is delusional. Dominated? Where? 30 yards from each goal? McKennie had the only decent shot. Aaronson and Pulisic had one from far out. Canadian goaltender could have sat in a chair drinking wine and eating cheese for 89.5 minutes.

Lucky for Costa Rica they have USA and Canada at home and Jamaica and El Salvador on road. They need to sweep those but not impossible. Warm weather games all.

And this right here is the problem and why he should be fired regardless of if we qualify or not. Tactically, they played exactly how he wanted. And the team looks like shit. The players have been doing what he wants throughout qualifying, its just a mess because he's in over his head. That's why you see the Euro players like Pulisic, McKennie, others going up to him during games almost arguing with him about what they need to be doing. He's not putting any of them in positions to take advantage of their skills. If this team qualifies and leaves him as manager, they're gonna get destroyed in the WC unless they somehow luck into a really softass group.
