6/10

Stuff is toned down to bring in the kiddos.

Old Dads.

Bill Burr hits a lot of nails on the head in this effort.

Old Henry
Prime
7/10
Simple western about a dad and son trying to protect their homestead from a gunshot stranger and the posse chasing him. Well shot and a cool twist.

No Hard Feelings
Netflix

JLaw tries to get, at the behest of his parents, a nerdy teenager out of his shell before he heads off to college. It’s a teen movie with a twist. You’ll enjoy.

Old Dads
Netflix
6.5
Old dudes trying to navigate this modern world. A little amateurish, but also some truly hilarious scenes. Bill Burr-ish all the way, but also some heart.

This sounds good. Have to give it a watch.

Stuff gets sideways in the sandbox when a new sergeant takes over an anti-terrorist unit in a warmer zone. It’s pretty cliche and the production value gets in the way. It’s an important story; this movie just doesn’t illuminate it properly.

River Wild

Accident happens on the rafting trip. One of the rafters goes rogue. Others try to survive. Plot jumps up too unbelievably, and it’s not shot very well. But the pacing and score are okay.

5 Nights at Freddy's
Peacock
4/10

I am not a fan of the horror genre, so take my rating with a grain of salt if you do like the genre. I only watched it because it has exploded at the box office and I have heard good things. But really, it did next to nothing for me. Serious plot holes all over the place, and lots of missed opportunities to really tighten up the story.

Watched Soylent Green the other night. It was even better than I remember.

Caught the first 40 minutes of Old Dads and turned it off. Even with Bill Burr, it was Just another "Dads are idiots that do nothing but make mistakes and then try to fix them in the end" movie.

It was an ok movie, better than I thought it would be. Jennifer Lawrence's nekkid fight scene ups the score.
