GAME 2023 NFL Draft Thread

It’s not like he killed two people drag racing.
That’s a plus for Carter IMO. He didn’t wreck. Shows he can drive better than a married white woman hanging out with a bunch of college football players after midnight. Would have been a good fit for the Motor City IMO

Draft ended last week but this thread is still going strong.

We’ve come a long way from “Who cares about the draft?” Lol

He prob cut them off. We’ll never know the truth.

Interesting read:

Ultimo primo weapon Jahmyr Gibbs may have been seen as a major reach at No. 12 overall, even independent of the concept of drafting a running back that high, but Gibbs brings elite speed and critically an impressive receiving skill set to an already dangerous offense. Gibbs averaged 1.83 yards per route run last season, sixth in the draft class.

Dude dropped the most important pass his way of his college career. Cost Bama the game against Tennessee and ended up costing them the SEC West and any shot at the playoffs

"The Lions had an unusual draft, placing a premium on good players at low-value positions."

Perfect summation.

Poor throw by the Bama QB.

By comparison, a lot of people say this drop by Swift that cost the Lions a game (perfect pass) ruined his head and he was never the same again. Another reason they replaced him with a mentally tough player.

It was a throw right on the money by the first overall pick in this draft.

Swift wasn’t on a natty winning UGA team, he’ll never get the love that James Cook/Zamir White/Kenny McIntosh get from UGA fans, or even Chubb and Michel

we lost to Dallas with Minshew as our QB

stop trying to compare the Lions to an elite team.
The Lions only lost by 3 to Philly last year and we played them early in the year, before James Houston was on the roster, before Kerby Joseph became a starter and with rookies starting at multiple positions on the defense, trying to get acclimated to the NFL. Not say it would have been different later in the year, but Detroit has a chance to compete with Philly.

We put up 400 yards of offense and 35 points on Philly. With our whole offense back, sans Chark, and the addition of our top 2 CB's, Cam Sutton from Pitt and Moselely from SF, to go along with Gardner-Johnson and a new MLB in Jack Campbell. I think Detroit has a shot to meet Philly in the NFC championship game.

I will say this -- Swift was made to play for Philly. He picked his jersey number and switched from 32 he wore in Detroit to 0. When asked why he chose the number 0 to wear for Philly, he said, "That is the number of times Dallas has been to the NFC championship game since I've been alive. :pound:

Wasn't that his 1st NFL game too? I can still see that pass -- he was open by 3-4 yards at the goal line and the ball hit him right in the hands. Instead of a game winning touchdown, the Lions lose.

Yup. He was never the same after that.

He lost us a few games over the years. Not exactly the catch Philly fans think he is.

Pun intended.

No he didn't, your hilariously awful defense and coaching did.

do you think the Lions would have fared as well against the Eagles later in the season?

don't forget the Eagles got better as the season went on too...they were trouncing teams just before the playoffs started.

🙄 Really nothing more silly than arguing just to argue.
For a team that has had years of bad coaching and glaring issues on both sides of the ball (most notably, horrendous defense year in/year out), it's silly to say you lost several games solely because of a secondary RB.
