Changing oil

I think my generation (gen x) is the last to have shop classes in HS.

It's a huge bummer. My nephew is functionally stupid when it comes to doing anything with he hands.
Nah. Shop classes are still a thing.

I took both.

Engine classes 1, 2, 3
Welding and Fab
Wood working
Home Ec
And home finance

I don't think they offer any of these anymore.
I'm a millennial, and mine had "home ec" (I don't think it was called that), and two semesters of shop.

I used to all the time, i hate taking it places especially when they have asshats using an impact to put the drain plug back on, i was younger and they were used vehicles with no warranties etc, now i have warranties and included oil changes in the purchase of the vehicles so we get them done at the dealer
Yeah, I had a plug impacted on with 75 lbs of torque one time. It was basically welded on.

yep had helped too many people get those bitches off and replace with new drain plugs after they are inevitably rounded and ruined the seal

i know you revel in being an asshole but the drain plugs on these audis arent made to be opened and then closed again without replacement and are purposely in a position with limited access but you be you :thumb:
I doubt that very much.

Technically I'm a Millennial (1983) and I had shop class.

bless your heart....
Maybe you should leave this difficult task to the professionals.

And by professionals I mean the 15 yr old at the Jiffy Lube tasked with changing oil.

So you believe him in that someone (Audi) built an engine without an oil drain plug?

Come on, I know you're more mechanically inclined than that, @Fish

Not so fast. Technically there is overlap depending on who you ask.

Description

Xennials are the micro-generation of people on the cusp of the Generation X and Millennial demographic cohorts. Researchers and popular media use birth years from the late 1970s to early 1980s or as late as 1985 as their defining range. Xennials are described as having had an analog childhood and a digital adulthood

According to Pew Research, members of Generation X were born between 1965 and 1980 and Millennials were born between 1981 and 1996. Xennials, though, were born some time between 1977 and 1983.Dec 20, 2018

I like to think of myself as Gen Y

But in the end it doesn't matter.

I like to think of myself as Gen Y
To each their own. I gladly distance myself from Gen Y. I have always sided more toward Gen X but fall more into the Xennial cat
